ROSH CHODESH

ROSH CHODESH

By Jabi’Jah Ariel

Rosh Chodesh – Hebrew: ראש חודש‎; translated Beginning of the Month; literally means Head of the Month, is the name for the first day of every month in the Hebrew calendar.

The Hebrew phrase, rosh chodesh, has been incorrectly translated ‘new moon’ in many modern day bible versions. The literal translation – ‘HEAD (rosh) of the MONTH (chodesh)’ is used in context as meaning ‘a new month’ and we see in the Dead Sea Scrolls this same phrase used throughout the scrolls, which lay out the priestly solar calendar and its feasts.

The word CHODESH (used over 256 times in the Tanach-“Old Testament”) always refers to a solar month and not a lunar or moon of any type.

Numbers 28:10 this is the burnt offering of every Shabbat, besides the continual burnt offering, and its drink offering.

Numbers 28:11 And in the beginning of your months –[Rosh Chodeshim/new year] you shall offer a burnt offering to YAHUAH: two young bulls, and one ram, seven lambs of the first year without spot,

Numbers 28:12 and three tenth parts of flour for a food offering, mixed with oil, for one bull, and two-tenth parts of flour for a food offering, mixed with oil, for one ram;

Numbers 28:13 and a separate tenth part of flour mixed with oil for a food offering to one lamb, for a burnt offering of a sweet savor, a fire offering to YAHUAH.

Numbers 28:14 And their drink offerings shall be half a hin of wine to a bull, and the third of a hin to a ram, and a fourth a hin to a lamb. This is the burnt offering of EVERY MONTH throughout the months of the year.

Numbers 28:15 And one kid of the goats for a sin offering to YAHUAH shall be prepared, besides the continual burnt offering and its drink offering.

Numbers 29:6 besides the burnt offering of the MONTH-[chodesh], and its food offering, and the daily burnt offering, and its food offering, and their drink offerings, according to their ordinance, for a sweet savor, a fire offering to YAHUAH.

1Ch 23:31 And they were to offer all burnt sacrifices to Jahuwah in the Shabbat, in the chodesh (1st of the month), and on the set feasts, by number, according to the order commanded to them, continually before YAHUAH,

1 Samuel 20:5 And David said to Jonathan, Behold, tomorrow is the chodesh, and I should not fail to sit at table with the king. But let me go so that I may hide myself in the field until the third day at evening.

1Samuel 20:27 And it happened on the next day, the second day of the chodesh, David’s place was empty. And Saul said to his son Jonathan, Why does the son of Jesse not come to the meal, neither yesterday nor today?

1Samuel 20:34 and Jonathan rose from the table in fierce anger, and did not eat food on the second day of the chodesh. For he was grieved for David, because his father had put him to shame.

New Month Day is determined and celebrated, as the sun passes 30 degrees or 30 days in the heavens from point A to point B. It is not a New Moon Day, as the moon has been unreliable since the days when its lunation no longer equaled that of the sun.

There is an interesting passage in the book of 3 Baruch (Greek version), about the moon and as to why it lost its timekeeping abilities.

3Baruch 9:1 And when they had withdrawn, night arrived, and with it the chariot of the moon and the stars.

3Baruch 9:2 And I[Baruch] said to the angel of YAHUAH,‎“Teach‎ me ‎what‎ the‎ moon‎ is. Explain how does it depart and where is it going, and what pattern does it travel?”

3Baruch 9:3 And he said to me ”Wait ‎and‎ you‎ will‎ see ‎this ‎shortly”. And on the marrow I saw this also in the form of a woman seated in a wheeled chariot and twenty angels are leading the chariot by means of oxen and the oxen are angels. The form of the moon is like a woman.

3Baruch 9:5 And ‎I‎ Baruch ‎said,‎“Why ‎does ‎it‎ sometimes ‎wax ‎and‎ sometimes‎ wane?”

3Baruch 9:6 And he ‎said‎ to ‎me,‎“Listen‎ Baruch, this which you see was designed by the Supreme

Divinity to be beautiful without‎ peer.”

3Baruch 9:7 But when the first-created Adam sinned. Having listened to Satanael, when he covered himself with the serpent, it [the moon] did not hide but shone forth and YAHUAH was angered by it and diminished her and shortened her days. He lay bare its days to affliction.”

During the transgression of Adam the moon shone brightly upon his sin and for that she lost her ability to keep time with the sun.

In the Tanach almost all references to month use the Hebrew word CHODESH (a set of 30 days of TIME), not the word YARAYACH (yaw-ray’-akh) or‎literally‎“The Moon”‎that‎ YAHUAH‎ made‎ as‎ the‎ earth’s‎ satellite. The word YARAYACH is only used 26 times, all referring to the actual moon itself. This is a correction‎ that‎ needs‎ to ‎be ‎made ‎on‎ ALL‎ OF‎ MAN’S‎ Hebraic‎ calendars.

You may be asking about‎ now… What about Psalm 104:19? Doesn’t it say that the YARAYACH-MOON was made for appointed times/mo’edim? No… Not really!! Recall that there are different kinds of appointed times and ONLY the context can determine which time it appoints.

Psalm 104:19 He appointed the moon-(yaw-ray’-akh) for seasons; the sun knows its going down.

Psalm 104:20 You make darkness, and it is night, in which all the beasts of the forest creep forth.

Psalm 104:21 The young lions roar after their prey, and seek their food from Eloah.

When Psalm 104:19 is read in context with verses 21 and 22 it speaks of the mo’ed of the night or darkness, as beasts in the forest look for prey in the APPOINTED MO’EDIM-SEASONS of night-darkness.

Psalm 104:21, is a continuation of that theme and then it shifts to verse 22 where the mo’edim- appointed times of light are regulated by the sun.

Psalm 104:22 The sun rises; they are gathered, and go to their dens to lie down.

This is not a reference to the moon itself regulating annual weekly Shabbats or annual feasts. This was a major error in assumption that resulted in a text taken out of its intended context.

Also, what of Genesis 1: 14-17? Where it is assumed that the moon and sun determine the seasons or mo’edim?

Genesis 1:14 And Eloah said, Let there be lights in the expanse of the heavens to divide between the day and the night. And let them be for signs, and for seasons, and for days and years.

Genesis 1:15 And let them be for lights in the expanse of the heavens to give light upon the earth. And it was so.

Genesis 1:16 And Eloah made two great lights: the greater light to rule the day and the smaller light to rule the night, He made the stars also.

Genesis 1:17 And Eloah set them in the expanse of the heavens to give light upon the earth,

ALL words written in italics throughout the King James Scriptures were ADDED to the original text, translated by Scribes, supposedly to make it more understandable to modern man. Instead it was meant to HIDE the true meaning.

If you read it without the italic non inspired additions, removing the words he made, and also- it literally reads like this:

THE LESSER LIGHT TO RULE THE NIGHT-THE STARS (not the Moon) to rule the night.

The Moon is NOT A GENERATOR of LIGHT but a reflector. In totality the stars are ECHAD, the LESSER LIGHT that RULE the night. The moon is unreliable and out of sync by 10 days a year or 30 days every 3 years. It cannot rule when it is missing or ABSENT throughout the month during the night!

“Let ‎them ‎be ‎for ‎signs‎ and‎ for ‎seasons‎ and‎ for‎ days‎ and‎ for‎ Years” (Gen 1:14) Notice that Scripture‎ does‎ not‎ say ‎for‎ “Months‎ or‎ New‎ Moons.”

Enoch 74:12 moon falls behind the sun and stars to the number of 30 days. And the SUN and the STARS BRING IN ALL THE YEARS EXACTLY, so that they do not advance or delay their position by a single day unto eternity; but complete the years with perfect justice in 364 days.

The lunar-solar calendar requires a 13th month to be added about every three years to keep the spring months in the spring. The problem is that SCRIPTURE DOES NOT SUPPORT A 13TH MONTH. Additionally, the lunar months would oscillate between 29 & 30 days. Scripture also do not support a 29 day month.

Finally, the feasts have agricultural offerings, which would require certain crops to be at maturity at a certain time frame. If the month comes early that year, so that the crop is not ready, or the crop comes late, so that the crop has fallen to the ground (because the crop cannot be harvested until the first fruits offerings are made), the offering would not be able to be made. Agriculture follows the solar cues, not the lunar cues.

Jericho- Story of the Moon

Jericho was the Crescent City, the moon city. In the Strong’s Concordance Jericho is defined ‎H3391 ‎“a‎lunation”‎ and ‎H3394‎ “Yerach- the‎ moon.

‎‎

Because Jericho was a center for moon worship, the first thing YAHUAH had Israel do was to destroy the pagan moon worship system and at the same time re establish His own Priestly calendar and Shabbat.

Joshua 4:13 About forty thousand prepared for war passed over before YAHUAH unto battle, to the plains of Jericho.

Joshua 6:2 And YAHUAH said unto Joshua, See, I have given into thine hand Jericho, and the king thereof, and the mighty men of valor.

Joshua 6:26 And Joshua charged them at that time, saying, Cursed before YAHUAH is the man who rises up and builds this city of Jericho. He shall lay the foundation of it in his first-born, and in his youngest son he shall set up the gates of it.

The battle of Jericho is more about the Calendar of Heaven than it is about the conquest of Israel. A man is cursed before YAHUAH who rebuilds this system of following the moon- Think ‎not?‎Let’s‎ look ‎at‎ the‎ words.

Builds- Banah- repair; set up
City- ayar- from the root ur- through the idea of opening the eyes; awake self; lift up self, raise (up), stir up (self). A primitive root; to (be) bare: – be made naked. UNCOVERED

Jericho- City of Moon- From an unused root of uncertain signification; a lunation, moon

YAHUAH will curse and remove His covering over any who repairs and rebuilds the system based on the moon, as this lifts up SELF!

Book of Jubilees 2:8-11 it expressly states:

These four great works YAHUAH created on the 3rd day. And on the 4th day He created the sun and the moon and the stars, and set them in the firmament of the heaven, to give light upon all the earth, and to rule over the day and the night, and divide the light from the darkness. And YAHUAH APPOINTED THE SUN to be a GREAT SIGN on the earth FOR DAYS and for SHABBATS and for MONTHS and for FEASTS and for YEARS and for the Shabbat of years (Shmetah) and for the jubilees and for all seasons of the years. And it divides the light from the darkness [and] for prosperity, that all things may prosper which shoot and grow on the earth. These three kinds He made on the 4th day.

THE SUN IS THE SIGN FOR ALL MO’EDIM, INCLUDING MONTHS AND THE WEEKLY 7TH DAY SHABBAT

Priestly Calendar of Melchizedek

Genesis 7:11 In ‎the ‎six‎hundredth‎ year ‎of‎ Noah’s ‎life,‎ in ‎the‎ second‎ month,‎ on‎ the ‎seventeenth‎ day‎ of the month, on the same day all the fountains of the great deep burst open, and the floodgates of the sky were opened.

Genesis 7:24 The water prevailed upon the earth one hundred and fifty days.

Genesis 8:3 and the water receded steadily from the earth, and at the end of one hundred and fifty days the water decreased. In the seventh month, on the seventeenth day of the month, the ark rested upon the mountains of Ararat.

There are five months from the 2nd to 7th month, 150 days = 30 days per month minimum. The Dead Sea Calendar as recorded in the Book of Enoch has one month with 31 days at each quarter, the days of equinoxes & solstices.

Enoch 75- And the leaders of the heads of the thousands, who are placed over the whole creation and over all the stars, have also to do with the four intercalary days, being inseparable from their office, according to the reckoning of the year, and these render service on the four days which are not reckoned in the reckoning of the year. And owing to them men go wrong therein, for those luminaries truly render service on the world-stations, one in the first portal, one in the third portal of the heaven, one in the fourth portal, and one in the sixth portal, and The Exactness Of The Year Is Accomplished Through Its Separate Three Hundred And Sixty-Four Stations.

Enoch 82- Blessed are all the righteous, blessed are all those who walk in the way of righteousness and sin not as the sinners, in the reckoning of all their days in which the sun traverses the heaven, entering into and departing from the portals for thirty days with the heads of thousands of the order of the stars, together with the four which are intercalated which divide the four portions of the year, which lead them and enter with them four days. Owing to them men shall be at fault and not reckon them in the whole reckoning of the year: yea, men shall be at fault, and not recognize them accurately. For they belong to the reckoning of the year and are truly recorded (thereon) forever, one in the first portal and one in the third, and one in the fourth and one in the sixth, and the year is completed in three hundred and sixty-four days. And the account thereof is accurate and the recorded reckoning thereof exact; for the luminaries, and months and festivals, and years and days, has Uriel shown and revealed to me, to whom YAHUAH of the whole creation of the world hath subjected the host of heaven. And he has power over night and day in the heaven to cause the light to give light to men -sun, moon, and stars, and all the powers of the heaven which revolve in their circular chariots. And these are the orders of the stars, which set in their places, and in their seasons and festivals and months.

The times of YAHUAH must be fixed and can be fixed only by the 12 stations/windows of the sun and stars that remain precise.

TODAY the true calendar is maintained by calendar watcher ARCHANGELS and they do not allow men to understand‎ it‎ without‎ the‎ keys‎ of‎ Enoch’s priestly ministry. This is the calendar of perfect integrity and precision and is not Roman, Jewish, Essene or even Solar-Lunar. It is the PRIESTLY calendar Melchizedek, kept and recorded on tablets in heaven and revealed to‎ men‎ IN‎ SIMPLICITY,‎ as ‎compared ‎to‎ men’s‎ opinions.

The most important of these four archangels serves YAHUAH in the OFFICE OF YEARLY RECONCILIATION, making sure intercalation takes place yearly,‎ so ‎earth’s‎ seasons‎ can ‎line‎up‎ with‎ the‎ heavens.‎ These‎ 4 Watchers, also make sure that the year is divided into 4 parts (13 weeks-91 days per quarter) with 12 perfect months; never a 13th month!

The heavenly calendar will be released fully into our trust after the Great Tribulation and in the Millennium it seems. Until then, we must rely on the one that YAHUAH appointed to teach our patriarchs and us; the kohen-priest over our patriarchs-ENOCH!

Exodus 12:2 This month is to you the beginning of months. It is to you the first among the months of the year.

This is the very first commandment given to the nation as a whole, an indication that the concept of Rosh Chodesh is very meaningful.

Moreover, a thousand years later in Israel, during the period of Syrian-Greek persecution, the Rosh Chodesh was one of only three commandments whose observance the oppressors prohibited. The other two forbidden commandments were the Shabbat and circumcision; that the Rosh Chodesh was on a plane with those central observances is an ample indication of its great significance.

The Rosh Chodesh is neither a weekly Shabbat, a 6 day work day, nor is it an annual Feast Day with the exception of Yom Teruah. No, it is a day unto itself.

Doing YAHUAH’s‎ Work:

Exodus 40:1 And YAHUAH spoke to Moshe, saying,

Exodus 40:2 You shall set up the tabernacle of the tent of the congregation on the first day of the first month.

Exodus 40:3 And you shall put the ark of the testimony in it, and you shall cover the ark with the veil…

Exodus 40:12 And you shall bring Aaron and his sons to the door of the tabernacle of the congregation, and wash them with water.

Exodus 40:13 And you shall put the holy garments on Aaron, and anoint him and sanctify him, so that he may minister to Me in the priest’s office.

Exodus 40:14 And you shall bring his sons and clothe them with tunics.

Exodus 40:15 And you shall anoint them, even as you anointed their father, so that they may minister to Me in the priest’s office. For their anointing shall surely be an everlasting priesthood for their generations.

Exodus 40:16 And Moshe did so. According to all that YAHUAH commanded him, so he did.

Exodus 40:17 And it was in the first month in the second year, on the first of the month, the tabernacle was reared up.

The tabernacle was constructed on the first day of the first month, thus allowing for YAHUAH’s‎ work ‎to‎ be done on this day- This is also the day that YAHUAH set up Aaron and his sons as priest. It is significant that YAHUAH chose not only the Rosh Chodesh- But ‎this‎ was ‎also‎ Rosh ‎Ha’Shanah ‎the ‎Beginning of the Year, to manifest such a monumental occasion.

Sanctification:

On the first day of the first month the Levites began to sanctify the temple during the reign of King Hezekiah to cleanse it of the filth of Ahaz and to once again do the work of YAHUAH.

2Ch 29:16 And the priests went into the inner part of the house of YAHUAH to clean it. And they brought out all the uncleanness that they found in the temple of YAHUAH into the court of the house of YAHUAH. And the Levites took it out to the torrent Kidron.

2Ch 29:17 And they began to sanctify on the first of the first month. And on the eighth day of the month they came to the porch of YAHUAH. And they made the house of YAHUAH pure in eight days, and in the sixteenth day of the first month they made an end.

2Ch 29:18 And they went in to Hezekiah the king and said, We have cleaned all the house of YAHUAH, and the altar of burnt offering, with all its vessels, and the showbread table, and all its vessels.

2Ch 29:19 And we have prepared and sanctified all the vessels which King Ahaz in his reign cast away in his sin. And behold, they are before the altar of YAHUAH.

YAHUAH told Ezekiel to sanctify the temple on Rosh Chodesh- Rosh‎ Ha’Shanah.

Ezekiel 45:18 So says YAHUAH Eloah: In the first month, in the first of the month, you shall take a bull without blemish, a son of the herd, and cleanse the sanctuary.

Atonement:

Scripture teaches us that each new Chodesh is more than simply the beginning of the new month. When describing the Rosh Chodesh offering in the Book of Numbers, the Torah says:

Numbers 28:11 And IN THE BEGINNING OF YOUR MONTHS you shall offer a burnt offering to YAHUAH: two young bulls, and one ram, seven lambs of the first year without spot,

Numbers 28:12 and three tenth parts of flour for a food offering, mixed with oil, for one bull, and two-tenth parts of flour for a food offering, mixed with oil, for one ram;

The special sacrifices of Rosh Chodesh not only signify the importance of observing this day as separate unto itself- it is also a monthly atonement for the sins done unknowingly but are now known. Whereas Yom‎ Ha’Kippurim is atonement for sins done both unknowingly and knowingly.

Leviticus 4:22 When a ruler has sinned and through ignorance has acted against one of the commands of YAHUAH his Eloah, which is not to be done, and is guilty;

Leviticus 4:23 or if his sin which he has sinned shall be made known to him, he shall bring his offering, a kid of the goats, a male without blemish.

Leviticus 4:24 And he shall lay his hand on the head of the goat and kill it in the place where he kills the burnt offering before YAHUAH. It is a sin offering.

Ezekiel also tells us that the sacrifices on the Rosh Chodesh were greater in number than those of the weekly Shabbat

Ezekiel 46:4 And the burnt offering that the prince shall offer unto YAHUAH in the Shabbat day shall be six lambs without blemish, and a ram without blemish.

Ezekiel 46:6 And in the day of the CHODESH it shall be a young bullock without blemish, and six lambs, and a ram: they shall be without blemish

Hearing YAHUAH:

Numbers begins by stating that YAHUAH spoke to Moshe on the first day of the second month. This suggests that the Torah is reflecting the idea that Chodesh was a day of learning. It was the day that YAHUAH communicated HIS message to Moshe. Moshe, in turn, gathered the Israelites, who were celebrating the Chodesh, and Moshe taught them what he heard from YAHUAH.

Numbers 1:1 And YAHUAH spoke to Moshe in the wilderness of Sinai, in the tabernacle of the congregation, on the first day of the second month, in the second year after they had come out of the land of Egypt, saying…

This is supported by Deuteronomy 1, which also reports that Moshe informed the Israelites on the first day of the eleventh month what he heard from YAHUAH.

Deuteronomy 1:3 And it happened, in the fortieth year, in the eleventh month, on the first of the month, Moshe spoke to the sons of Israel according to all that YAHUAH had commanded him concerning them;

Deuteronomy 1:4 after he had smitten Sihon the king of the Amorites, who lived in Heshbon, and Og the king of Bashan, who lived in Ashtaroth in Edrei,

Deuteronomy 1:5 beyond the Jordan, in the land of Moab, Moshe began to explain this Law, saying…‎

Also the prophet Ezekiel spoke to the people on four occasions on Chodesh:

Ezekiel 26:1 And it happened in the eleventh year, on the first of the month, the Word of YAHUAH came to me, saying,

Ezekiel 26:15 So says YAHUAH to Tyre: Shall not the coastlands shake at the sound of your fall, when the slain groan, when the slaughter is made in your midst?

Ezekiel 27:1 The Word of YAHUAH came to me, saying,

Ezekiel 27:2 And you, son of man, take up a mourning for Tyre.

Ezekiel 27:3 And say to Tyre, O you who are placed at the entrance of the sea, a merchant of the peoples for many coastlands, so says YAHUAH Eloah: O Tyre, you have ‎said, ‎I‎ am ‎of‎ perfect ‎beauty…

Ezekiel 29:17 And it happened in the twenty-seventh year, in the first month, on the first of the month, the Word of YAHUAH came to me, saying,

Ezekiel 30:2 Son of man, prophesy and say, So says YAHUAH: Howl, Woe is the day!

Ezekiel 31:1 And it happened in the eleventh year, in the third month, on the first of the month, the Word of YAHUAH came to me, saying,

Ezekiel 31:2 Son of man, speak to Pharaoh king of Egypt and to his multitude: To whom are you like in your greatness?

Ezekiel 32:1 And it happened in the twelfth year, in the twelfth month, on the first of the month, the Word of YAHUAH came to me, saying,

Ezekiel 32:2 Son of man, take up a lament for Pharaoh king of Egypt, and say to him, You were like a young lion of the nations, but you were like a sea-monster. And you came out with your rivers, and troubled the waters with your feet, and fouled their rivers.

Also in II Kings 4 we read that the Israelites traveled to prophets on Chodesh to hear YAHUAH’s‎ words.

2 Kings 4:17 And the woman conceived and bore a son at that time that Elisha had said to her, according to the time of life.

2 Kings 4:18 And the boy grew, and the day came that he went out to his father to the reapers.

2 Kings 4:19 And he said to his father, My head, my head! And he said to a lad, Carry him to his mother.

2 Kings 4:20 And he carried him and brought him to his mother. And he sat on her knees until noon and died.

2 Kings 4:21 And she went up and laid him on the bed of the man of Eloah, and shut the door on him and went out.

2 Kings 4:22 And she called to her husband and said, Please send me one of the young men and one of the asses so that I may run to the man of Eloah and come again.

2 Kings 4:23 And he said, “Why will you go to him today? It is neither Rosh Chodesh nor Shabbat.” And she said, “It is well.”

We can see that the Rosh Chodesh and the Shabbat are being referred to as similar days, but NOT THE SAME; her husband said why will you go to him today? The people assembled in the synagogues across Israel to hear the Torah read on the Shabbat days. They would also inquire of the prophets, as they had ceased from their normal labors to do that.

Special Assembly:

Ezekiel 46:1 This says YAHUAH: The gate of the inner courtyard that looks toward the east shall be shut the six working days; but on the Shabbat it shall be opened, and in the day of the Rosh Chodesh it shall be opened [for assembly and worship].

Ezekiel 46:3 Likewise the people of the land shall worship at the door of this gate before YAHUAH in the Shabbats and in the Rosh Chodeshim (New Months).

Isaiah 66:23 And it will be, from one Rosh Chodesh to another, and from one Shabbat to another, all flesh will come to worship before Me, says YAHUAH.

Rosh Chodesh was celebrated at the place dedicated to YAHUAH where people gathered to worship. Originally this was the Tabernacle, and then the Temple. Today we gather with fellow believers or if we find ourselves alone, spend the day with Eloah in gladness and cheer. It is a celebration!

2 Chronicles 2:4 Behold, I am building a house to the name of YAHUAH my Eloah, to dedicate it to Him, and to burn before Him sweet incense, and for the continual showbread, and for the burnt offerings morning and evening, on the Shabbats, and on the Rosh Chodesh, and on the Solemn Feasts of YAHUAH our Eloah. This is an ordinance forever to Israel.

No Work/Commerce:

Amos 8:5 Saying, When will the Rosh Chodesh be gone, that we may sell our corn? And the Shabbat, that we may set forth wheat, making the ephah small, and the shekel large, and falsifying the‎ balances‎ by‎ deceit?”

When will the Rosh Chodesh be gone? They kept their festivals, though weary and impatient for their close. They kept Shabbat and festival with their bodies, not with their minds.‎ The‎ Psalmist‎ said,‎ “When‎ shall I come to appear before the presence of YAHUAH?” ‎(Psa 42:2). These said, perhaps in their hearts only which YAHUAH can read,‎“when‎ will‎ this‎ service ‎be ‎over,‎ that ‎we‎ may‎ be‎ our ‎own‎ masters‎ again?”‎ They loathed the rest of the Shabbat,‎ because ‎they ‎had, ‎to‎rest‎ from‎ their ‎frauds.‎ He ‎instances‎ “the Rosh Chodesh”‎ and‎ “Shabbat,”‎ because‎ these were a regularly, recurring hindrance to their covetousness.

The rich and powerful of the land were the guiltiest of oppression, as well as the foremost in idolatry. They were weary of the restraints of the Shabbat and the Rosh Chodesh, and wished them over, because no common work might be done therein. Five days away each month from being able to make the all mighty dollar. It was too hard to submit to YAHUAH’s way over man’s way.

This is the character of many who are called Believers. The Shabbat day and Shabbat work are a burden to carnal hearts. It will either be profaned or be accounted a dull day. But can we spend our time better than in communion with YAHUAH?

When employed in religious services, they were thinking of marketing. They were weary of holy duties, because their worldly business stood still the while. Those are strangers to YAHUAH, and enemies to themselves, who love market days better than Shabbat days, who would rather be selling corn than worshipping YAHUAH.

S0- if Rosh Chodesh is to fall on a Roman work day should we, the followers of YAHUAH’s‎ Word work on it as a normal work day?

Numbers 10:10 Also in the day of your gladness, and in your solemn days, and in the beginnings of your months, you shall blow with the trumpets over your burnt offerings, and over the sacrifices of your peace offerings. And THEY SHALL BE TO YOU FOR A MEMORIAL BEFORE YAHUAH. I am YAHUAH your Eloah.

The Rosh Chodesh is as set apart as the weekly Shabbat, or annual feasts, yet in its own special category!

We see from Scripture alone that the Rosh Chodesh never falls on a weekly Shabbat day, or regular 6 day work day. Again there is not one verse in Scripture, where we are allowed by YAHUAH to mix Rosh Chodesh Day with either a weekly Shabbat Day, or a 6 day work week Day. It ‎is ‎a‎ day‎ “like” ‎a‎ weekly‎ Shabbat, but unto itself, where work for laborious pay is forbidden and sacred believers’ assembly is required.

Observing the Rosh Chodesh is so important to YAHUAH that Hosea teaches how YAHUAH will‎ take‎ away ‎HIS‎ mo’ed‎ – Rosh Chodesh as one of the penalties for not obeying HIS WORD, WORSHIPING IDOLS and RELYING ON THE BEAST GOVERNMENT SYSTEM.

Hosea 2:1 Speak to your brethren, Ammi My People, and to your sister, Ruhamah Being Shown Mercy!

Hosea 2:2 Plead with your mother! Plead! For she is not my wife, and I am not her husband. And I will lift away her harlotry from in front of me, and her adultery from between her breasts;

Hosea 2:3 Lest I strip her naked, and set her as in the day that she was born, and make her as a wilderness, and set her like a dry land, and slay her with thirst.

Hosea 2:4 And I will not have mercy upon her children; for they be the children of whoredoms.

Hosea 2:5 For their mother hath played the harlot: she that conceived them hath done shamefully: for she said, I will go after my lovers, that give me my bread and my water, my wool and my flax, mine oil and my drink.

Hosea 2:6 Therefore, behold, I will hedge up thy way with thorns, and make a wall, that she shall not find her paths.

Hosea 2:7 And she shall follow after her lovers, but she shall not overtake them; and she shall seek them, but shall not find them: then shall she say, I will go and return to my first husband; for then was it better with me than now.

Hosea 2:8 For she did not know that I gave her corn, and wine, and oil, and multiplied her silver and gold, which they prepared for Baal.

Hosea 2:9 Therefore will I return, and take away my corn in the time thereof, and my wine in the season thereof, and will recover my wool and my flax given to cover her nakedness.

Hosea 2:10 And now will I discover her lewdness in the sight of her lovers, and none shall deliver her out of mine hand.

Hosea 2:11 I will also cause all her joy to cease, her feast days, her ROSH CHODESH, and her SHABBOT, and ALL HER APPOINTED FEASTS.

Hosea 2:12 And I will destroy her vines and her fig trees, of which she has said, They are my rewards that my lovers have given me. And I will make them a forest, and the beasts of the field shall eat them.

Hosea 2:13 And I will visit on her the days of the Baals (false appointed times of men), in which she burned incense to them, and she adorned herself with her nose-rings and her jewels, and she went after her lovers and forgot Me, says YAHUAH.

The‎ general‎ truth‎ is‎ expressed,‎ that‎ “whoever forsakes YAH for the world, will be put to shame by YAH before the world itself; and that all the more, the nearer it stood to Him before.”‎In ‎other ‎words – The closer we walk with YAHUAH the more He expects from us in our obedience, thus the greater our punishment when we disobey and blessings when we are obedient.

When YAHUAH’Ss people‎ forsake ‎HIM;‎ when we worship on days that are not HIS appointed times (Sunday church) to the false gods of this world; god, lord, baal, budah, allah- etc. When we celebrate Christ-mas, or a day for the goddess Ishtar/Easter, or worship the Creator under the form of a brute creature as on the day of the golden calf/4th of July- OR, any that YAHUAH has forbidden.

THEN we keep the ‎great ‎“feast-days,”‎ whereby‎He is commemorated for His mercies to our forefathers;‎ the‎“Rosh Chodesh, ”‎whereby‎ the ‎first‎ of‎ every ‎month‎ is given to YAHUAH;‎ “the Shabbat,”‎ whereby we acknowledge YAHUAH as ‎the‎ Creator ‎of‎ all ‎things;‎ and ‎all‎ the‎ other‎ “Solemn Feasts,”‎ whereby we thank YAHUAH for acts of His special providence, or for His annual gifts of nature, and yet condemn ourselves for trusting in false gods for those same gifts, and for associating His creatures with Himself.

But man, even while he disobeys YAHUAH, does not like to part with Him altogether, but will serve Him just enough to soothe his own conscience, or as far as he can without parting with his sin which he loves better.

Jeroboam retained all of YAHUAH’s ‎worship, ‎which‎ he ‎could‎ combine‎ with ‎his ‎own‎ political‎ ends; and even ‎in‎ Ahab’s ‎time ‎Israel‎ “halted between two opinions,”‎ and‎ Judah‎“ sware both by YAHUAH and by Malcham (Molech)”‎the‎ true‎ Eloah and the false.

Zephaniah 1:4 I will also stretch out My hand on Judah and on all those dwelling in Jerusalem. And I will cut off the remnant of Baal from this place, the name of the idol worshipers, with the priests;

Zephaniah 1:5 and those bowing to the host of the heavens on the housetops; and those bowing, swearing to YAHUAH, also swearing by Malcham,

Zephaniah 1:6 and those drawing back from after YAHUAH, and who have not sought YAHUAH, nor asked of Him.

All this worship is empty, because it is contrary to the will of YAHUAH. Yet since YAHUAH says,‎ “I‎ will‎ take away all her mirth (joy),”‎ we have, what we imagine to be, religious‎ “mirth” ‎in ‎our  “feasts,”‎ fulfilling‎ as we allege, the commandment of YAHUAH,‎“Thou‎ shalt ‎rejoice ‎in ‎thy ‎feasts”.‎

Amos 8:10 And I will turn Your FEAST into mourning, and all your songs into weeping; and I will bring up sackcloth on all loins, and baldness on every head. And I will make it like the mourning of an only son, and the end of it like a bitter day.

Amos 8:11 Behold, the days come, says YAHUAH Eloah, that I will send a famine in the land; not a famine of bread nor a thirst for water, but of hearing the Words of YAHUAH.

YAHUAH’s‎elect could‎ have‎ no ‎real‎ joy,‎ since ‎true ‎joy‎ is‎ “in‎ YAHUAH”. So, in order that the ecclesia might not deceive herself anymore, YAHUAH says that HE will take away that bogus formal service of Himself, which she blended with the real service of idols, and will remove the hollow outward joy, that, through repentance, we might come to the true joy in Him.

Hosea 2:13 “Israel served false gods, so I will punish her. She burned incense to those false gods. She dressed up–she put on her jewelry and nose ring. Then she went to her lovers and forgot me.” This is what YAHUAH has said.

Hosea 2:14 “So I, YAHUAH, will speak romantic words to her. I will lead her into the desert and speak tender words.

Hosea 2:15 There I will give her vineyards. I will give her the Valley of Achor (trouble) as a doorway of hope. Then she will answer as she did when she came out of the land of Egypt.”

Hosea 2:16 This is what YAHUAH says. “At that time you will call me ‘My husband’. You will not call me ‘My Baal’.

Hosea 2:17 I will take the names of those false gods out of her mouth. Then people will not use those names again.

Hosea 2:18 “At that time I will make an agreement for the Israelites with the animals of the field, the birds of the sky, and the crawling things on the ground. I will break the bow, the sword, and the weapons of war in that land. I will make the land safe, so the people of Israel can lie down in peace.

Hosea 2:19 And I will make you my bride forever. I will make you my bride with goodness and justice and with love and mercy.

Hosea 2:20 I will make you my faithful bride. Then you will really know YAHUAH.

Hosea 2:21 And at that time I will answer.” This is what YAHUAH says. “I will speak to the skies, and they will give rain to the earth.

Hosea 2:22 The earth will produce grain, wine, and oil, and they will meet Jezreel’s needs.

Hosea 2:23 I will sow her many seeds on her land. To Lo-Ruhamah, I will show mercy. To Lo-Ammi, I will say, ‘You are my people.’ And they will say to me, ‘You are our Eloah.'”

For ages people kept YAHUAH’s ‎covenant. But, eventually they chose to rebel and disobey and lost the joy of the Creators true celebrations. And with each restoration, the Rosh Chodesh became part of that restoration; as in the times of Ezra and Nehemiah.

Each time that one of YAHUAH’s ‎servants ‎restored Israel to the way of YAHUAH, it included observing the Shabbat, Rosh Chodesh, and Holy Days as Eloah instructed.

Ezra 3:1 And when the seventh month was come, and the children of Israel were in the cities, the people gathered themselves together as one man to Jerusalem.

Ezra 3:2 Then stood up Jeshua the son of Jozadak, and his brethren the priests, and Zerubbabel the son of Shealtiel, and his brethren, and built the altar of the Eloah of Israel, to offer burnt offerings thereon, as it is written in the law of Moses the man of YAHUAH.

Ezra 3:3 And they set the altar upon his bases; for fear was upon them because of the people of those countries: and they offered burnt offerings thereon unto YAHUAH, even burnt offerings morning and evening.

Ezra 3:4 They kept also the feast of tabernacles, as it is written, and offered the daily burnt offerings by number, according to the custom, as the duty of every day required;

Ezra 3:5 And afterward offered the continual burnt offering, both of ROSH CHODESH and of all the MO’ED of YAHUAH that were consecrated, and of every one that willingly offered a freewill offering unto YAHUAH.

Nehemiah 10:29 They were united with their brothers, their rulers, and put themselves under a curse and an oath, ‎to ‎keep ‎their ‎steps ‎in ‎the ‎way‎ of‎ Eloah’s‎ covenant, which was given by Moses, the servant of Eloah, and to keep and do all the orders of YAHUAH, our Eloah, and HIS decisions and HIS rules;

Nehemiah 10:30 And that we would not give our daughters to the peoples of the lands, or take their daughters for our sons;

Nehemiah 10:31 And if the peoples of the lands come to do trade in goods or food on the Shabbat day, that we would do no trade with them on the Shabbat or on a holy day: and that in the seventh (Sabbatical) year we would take no payment from any debtor.

Nehemiah 10:32 And we made rules for ourselves, taxing ourselves a third of a shekel every year for the upkeep of the house of our Eloah;

Nehemiah 10:33 For the holy bread, and for the regular meal offering and the regular burned offering on the Shabbat and at the ROSH CHODESH and the fixed MO’ED and for the sin-offerings to take away the sin of Israel, and for all the work of the house of our Eloah.

In the Brit Chadasha, Apostolic Believers who remained true to THE Word, continued to honor the Shabbat, Rosh Chodesh days as well as observe Feast days.

Colossians 2:16 Therefore do not let anyone judge you by what you eat or drink, or with regard to a religious festival, a Rosh Chodesh celebration or a Shabbat day

1Corinthians 5:8 So let us keep the feast, not with old leaven, nor with leaven of malice and of evil, but with unleavened bread of sincerity and truth

The Restoration of YAHUAH’s Calendar in the Wilderness Place

While Isaiah was given the prophecy concerning YAHUAH’s‎ rejection of the incorrect Chodesh (i.e.; new moon observance), Festivals (Easter, Christmas), Shabbats (Sunday), and assemblies…

Isaiah also prophesied that the CALENDAR would be RESTORED AND PURIFIED IN THE LAST DAYS when the remnant is in the wilderness just prior to them being returned to Zion.

This is written in Isaiah 35 which lays out the context – the wilderness and solitary place…

Isaiah 35:1 The wilderness and the solitary place shall be glad for them; and the desert shall rejoice, and blossom as the rose.

It is a future, prophetic time, when the ransomed of YAHUAH shall go into the wilderness before they will‎ come ‎to‎ Zion ‎with ‎songs‎ and‎ everlasting‎ joy…‎‎ This‎ is‎ the ‎end ‎of ‎the‎ 6th day and is the time we now are beginning to see ahead of us.

Isaiah prophesies the restoration of the true biblical calendar, which is free from all unclean Nicolaitan influence.

Isaiah 35: 8 And an highway shall be there, and a way, and it shall be called The way of set- apartness; the unclean shall not pass over it; but it shall be for those: the wayfaring men (wayfaring uses the stars to guide in the correct direction), though fools, shall not err in it.

Surely this includes the covering of the blood of Messiah, the Name of YAHUAH and obedience to commandments of Moses, amongst other provision of the Covenant of YAHUAH – but at the heart of the Way of Set-Apartness is the restoration of YAHUAH’s‎ Divine‎ calendar – that will be hidden from all who would follow religion- and revealed but to the remnant – since only the remnant will be brought under the rod and into His Covenant of Peace.

Ezekiel 20: 37 And I will cause you to pass under the rod, and I will bring you into the bond of the covenant.

It is probable, given the way that YAHUAH has previously used global cataclysm to change the days of the year that this too might happen again during the time of the second exodus. The precedent is in the Word of YAHUAH.

It becomes important therefore,‎ as‎ we ‎are‎ about‎ to ‎enter‎ the ‎prophesied‎ “wilderness”‎ place,‎ that ‎the‎ remnant who are redeemed by YAHUSHA, consider these matters prayerfully and examine the scriptures to see if they be so, and to leave ‎the‎re legion‎ of‎ the‎“strange‎ children” ‎fully‎ behind.

Acts 3:17 And now, brethren, I wot that through ignorance ye did it, as did also your rulers.

Acts 3:18 But those things, which Eloah before had shewed by the mouth of all his prophets, that Messiah should suffer, he hath so fulfilled.

Acts 3:19 Repent ye therefore, and be converted, that your sins may be blotted out, when the times of refreshing shall come from the presence of YAHUAH;

Acts 3:20 And he shall send YAHUSHA, which before was preached unto you:

Acts 3:21 Whom the heaven must receive until the times of restitution of all things, which YAHUAH hath spoken by the mouth of all his holy prophets since the world began.

Acts 3:22 For Moses truly said to the fathers, “YAHUAH your Eloah shall raise up a Prophet to you from your brothers, One like me. You shall hear Him in all things, whatever He may say to you.

Acts 3:23 And it shall come to pass, that every soul, which will not hear that prophet, shall be destroyed from among the people.

Acts 3:24 Yea, and all the prophets from Samuel and those that follow after, as many as have spoken, have likewise foretold of these days.

Acts 3:25 Ye are the children of the prophets, and of the covenant which YAHUAH made with our fathers, saying unto Abraham, And in thy seed shall all the kindreds of the earth be blessed.

Acts 3:26 Unto you first YAHUAH, having raised up HIS Son YAHUSHA, sent Him to bless you, in turning away every one of you from his iniquities.

Satan, in his efforts to seize YAHUAH’s authority has not only thought to change times and laws – he has done it. He has masterfully diverted the attention of all those who sincerely desire to keep the true Shabbat and mo’edim/appointed times to following day contrived of men.

Outlawing YAHUAH’s calendar and substituting a pagan calendar in its place is a monumental change. Deceiving YAHUAH’s people into worshiping on a false day, while thinking that they are keeping holy the true Shabbat, is a diabolical deception. Therefore, it would be reasonable to expect YAHUAH to give a warning in the Scriptures of such a significant, crucial event.

YAHUSHA Himself referred to this calendar change. His warning against this masterpiece of deception is given almost word-for-word in both Matthew and Mark:

Matthew 24:15, 16 – “When ye therefore shall see the abomination of desolation, spoken of by Daniel the prophet, stand in the holy place, (whoso readeth let him understand:) then let them which be in Judea flee into the mountains.”

Mark 13:14 – “But when he shall see the abomination of desolation, spoken of by Daniel the prophet, standing where it ought not, (let him that readeth understand,) then let them that be in Judea flee to the mountains.”

This battle over worship will continue to grow and spread. Every person must make a decision to worship YAHUAH on His true Shabbat days, as a sign of loyalty to Him. To secure material security, they will accept a counterfeit HOLY DAYS.

Many, though, will be chosen to stand steadfast and loyal to their Creator, worshiping Him on the day which His calendar in the sky dictates. The controversy will escalate until it reaches the point warned about in Revelation 16:13, 14 & 16:

And I saw three unclean spirits like frogs come out of the mouth of the dragon, and out of the mouth of the beast, and out of the mouth of the false prophet. For they are the spirits of devils, working miracles, which go forth unto the kings of the earth and of the whole world to gather them to the battle of that great day of YAHUAH Saboath . . . And he gathered them together into a place called in the Hebrew tongue Har-mageddon.

The Seven Annual Sabbaths (High Sabbaths)

The Seven Annual Sabbaths (High Sabbaths)

If you thought that The Eternal only had weekly Sabbath Days then you would be mistaken.

There are SEVEN Annual Holy Sabbaths that occur once every year.

These SEVEN Annual Sabbaths are:

1 The first day of the Feast of Unleavened Bread

2 The last day of the Feast of Unleavened Bread

3 The day of Pentecost (Shavuot) which coincides with the beginning of The Feast of Weeks

4 The Day of Trumpets (Yom Teruah)

5 The Day of Atonement (Yom Kippur)

6 The first day of the Feast of Tabernacles (Succoth or Sukkot)

7 The Last Great Day (also, Sukkot)

These Holy Days are spoken of in Leviticus chapter 23; Three of these annual Sabbaths are Feasts periods.

Two of the Feast periods have been positively identified in Scripture as being seven day long periods (a 7 day week).

The Feast of Weeks (a.k.a. The Feast of First Fruits), a symbolic Spring Harvest, is most probably, also, exactly seven days long.

Feasts are “Appointed Times” but are not necessarily Holy Convocations (Sabbath Assemblies).

However, four of the Seven Annual Sabbath Days (are Holy Convocations and) do occur during a Feast Period (a 7 day week).

“The Last Great Day” immediately follows the seven day feast period of The Feast of Tabernacles (a.k.a. The Feast of Ingathering, a.k.a. The Feast of Booths, a.k.a. Succoth or Sukkot).

Only three Annual High Sabbaths positively do not fall within a seven day Feast Period (Yom Teruah, Yom Kippur, and The Last Great Day).

These are not manmade Jewish laws, but The Eternal Father’s Laws.

YAHUAH’S MOEDIM – DIVINE APPOINTMENTS

YAHUAH’S MOEDIM – DIVINE APPOINTMENTS

The Feasts of YAHUAH

This will be a basic simplified overview of the Feasts of YAHUAH, found in Lev 23 to help those who have just been awakened to the Hebraic Awakening of their faith. As I have written before, often times when one becomes aware of their Hebrew, heritage they desire to learn quickly all they can to make up for those lost years of unintentional pagan influenced worship. Their natural inclination is to go to someone who has been observing Torah for years for instruction. Sadly, many of them go to Brother Judah for answers and will come away deceived. Judaism does not hold the answers we are seeking as it is deficient of truth in many areas. Knowledge of Torah without YAHUSHA is not a true understanding of Torah. So, I will also try to expose some of the erroneous traditions that the Jews apply to the Feasts of YAHUAH that most of us have just tended to accept.

I will try to be as concise as possible to keep the length of this paper to a minimum and still cover the important aspects of the Feasts we are commanded to observe. These Feasts are called Moa’dim in Hebrew and mean “appointments or rehearsals”. They are found in the 23 rd chapter of Leviticus and are called shadows of things to come (Col. 2:16-17). They represent YAHUAH’s plan of salvation for mankind.

Four of the Feasts have already been fulfilled during the first coming of YAHUSHA, the Messiah. The remaining three will be fulfilled at his second coming.

The four spring festivals are:

● Passover – observed in the first month of the biblical calendar on the 14th day of Abiv.

● Unleavened Bread – observed immediately following Passover on the 15th day of Abiv.

● Feast of First Fruits – observed the day after the weekly Sabbath during the Feast of Unleavened Bread.

● Shavout/Pentecost – observed fifty days from the Feast of First Fruits.

The 3 remaining festivals are the fall feasts. They are:

● Feast of Trumpets – observed on the first day of the seventh month.

● Day of Atonement – observed on the 10th day of the seventh month.

● Feast of Tabernacles – observed on the 15th day of the seventh month.

We will now look at each of the festivals, their Hebrew names, what they symbolize and what we are supposed to do to observe them.

Passover (Pesach)

The story of the Passover is found in Exodus chapter 12. There is controversy today as to when the New Year Abiv 1 occurs. Some believe Abiv 1 is the first new moon closest to the Vernal equinox, others, believe it to be the first new moon after the Vernal equinox. Then there is the question as to whether the new moon is defined as the sighted sliver or the totally dark moon (conjunction). Personally, I lean toward the Spring Equinox.

A lamb without spot or blemish was removed from the flock on the 10th of Abiv and was kept and cared for at the home of each family that would sacrifice it. They would carefully inspect it to make sure it was free of any blemishes.

Exous 12:3 Speak ye unto all the congregation of Yisra’el, saying, In the tenth day of this month they shall take to them every man a lamb, according to the house of their fathers, a lamb for an house:

Exous 12:4 And if the household be too little for the lamb, let him and his neighbour next unto his house take it according to the number of the souls; every man according to his eating shall make your count for the lamb.

Exous 12:5 Your lamb shall be without blemish, a male of the first year: ye shall take it out from the sheep, or from the goats:

The lamb would be inspected for 4 days. Often, it would almost become a family pet which made the sacrificing of it heart wrenching.

YAHUSHA was our sacrificial lamb without spot or blemish. He was also examined for 4 days when he entered the temple in Jerusalem on the 10th of Abiv and was condemned to die on the 14th (Passover). No fault was found in him – see Luk 23:4; 23:14; Joh 18:38; 19:4; 19:6.

Exous 12:6 And ye shall keep it up until the fourteenth day of the same month: and the whole assembly of the congregation of Yisra’el  After ensuring that the lamb was free from blemish, it was taken between the evenings (הערבים – Ha Erevim) on Abiv 14 and slaughtered. YAHUSHA was the lamb slain from the foundation of the world. He was taken on the 4th day (4,000) years and was slain as our Passover lamb on Abiv 14.

Again, there is controversy as to the meaning of “between the evenings.” When the Jews were in Babylon, they had combined Passover and the Feast of Unleavened Bread into one festival and simply called the whole 7 day observance Passover. This is why the account in the New Testament is hard to understand. Most translations have the Passover lamb being sacrificed on the first day of unleavened bread. The Passover lamb is never sacrificed on the first day of unleavened bread; it is already eaten by then.

Mar 14:12 And the first day of unleavened bread, when they killed the passover, his disciples said unto him, Where wilt thou that we go and prepare that thou mayest eat the passover?

This should read “And Before the first day of unleavened bread…” The word translated “first” is protos in the Greek, Strongs # 4413 and should be translated “before” which makes it harmonize with the rest of scripture. John 13:1 is translated correctly. The lamb had already been sacrificed before the first day of Unleavened Bread.

The Rabbinic Jews maintain that what is meant by “between the evenings” is from when the sun begins to dip from noon going toward sundown until sundown itself. This is what puts them a day off in their observance of Passover. The Karaites and Samaritans take the position that it is from 6 PM to 7:20 PM. I agree somewhat with this in that I believe that “between the evenings” is the period from sunset until total darkness, a period of about 45 minutes.

A careful review of the Passover account in Exodus 12 will show that the death angel passed over at midnight on the 14th of Abiv. The only night time portion of the 14th is at the beginning of it as the Hebrew days begins at sunset and ends at sunset the following day.

Many object saying that since YAHUSHA was crucified during the day time portion of the 14th of Abiv, that the Pharisees observance of Passover is correct. However, YAHUSHA did observe Passover with his disciples the night before, even though he was slain during the day portion of the 14th. He still died on the 14th and both observed Passover with his disciples and was the Passover lamb slain from the foundation of the world.

The Jews eat their Passover on the 15th which is actually the first day of Unleavened Bread. That is not scriptural. The blood of the lamb was applied to the door posts in the Exodus account on the night of the 14th. YAHUSHA observed Passover on the 14th as did the Sadducees. This is when I personally observe Passover.

The Passover supper is called a Seder which is a ceremony full of symbolism of the Messiah. Besides being the lamb that was slain, he is also represented by the “Afikomen”, the middle portion of the unleavened wafer (Matzah) that is broken and wrapped in a linen cloth and hidden at the beginning of the ceremony. This represents the burial of YAHUSHA and is usually redeemed toward the end of the ceremony. The leader of the ceremony, usually the father of the household, will send the children out to look for the hidden Afikomen. When one finds it, the Afikomen is redeemed by a gift called the “promise of the father.” A small book of liturgy called the Haggadah (the telling) is used at the Passover Seder. Messianic believers have adapted the Haggadah to include scriptures from the Brit Chadashah. Passover is all about the Messiah, the false festival of Easter is not.

Feast of Unleavened Bread (Hag HaMatzah)

This feast immediately follows Passover and begins on Abiv 15. It is a 7 day festival in which no one is allowed to eat leavened bread. The account can be found in Exo. 12:14-17. This symbolizes the leaving of Egypt which to us today is a type of the world. We are to purge all the leaven out of our lives during this time. Leaven represents false doctrine which does lead to sin.

This first day of this Feast is also referred to as a high Sabbath. It was this Sabbath that the Jews had to get YAHUSHA’s body down from the cross before it began at sundown. A misunderstanding of this has led to the false doctrine of a Friday evening crucifixion and Sunday morning resurrection of YAHUSHA. When YAHUSHA was asked for a sign by the Pharisees, he replied that the only sign he would give was the sign of Jonah. For as Jonah was in the belly of the whale for 3 days and 3 nights, so shall the Son of man be 3 days and 3 nights in the heart of the earth. (Mat 12:40; 16:4; Luk 11:29). Anyone claiming to be the Messiah and not being in the grave 3 full days and nights prior to his supposed resurrection is not the true Messiah. YAHUSHA was crucified on a Wednesday afternoon and laid in the tomb before sunset which would have begun the Feast of Unleavened Bread. He arose 3 days later at the end of the weekly Sabbath.

The first and last days of the Feast of Unleavened Bread are Sabbaths in which no servile work is allowed (Lev 23:7-8). The keeping of the Feast of Unleavened Bread is to be:

Exo 13:9 And it shall be for a sign unto thee upon thine hand, and for a memorial between thine eyes, that YAHUAH’s law may be in thy mouth: for with a strong hand hath YAHUAH brought thee out of Egypt.

Exo 13:16 And it shall be for a token upon thine hand, and for frontlets between thine eyes: for by strength of hand YAHUAH brought us forth out of Egypt.

Deu 6:8 And thou shalt bind them for a sign upon thine hand, and they shall be as frontlets between thine eyes.

Deu 6:9 And thou shalt write them upon the posts of thy house, and on thy gates.

The above scriptures remind us to remember the Law (Torah) of YAHUAH always. The keeping of the weekly Sabbath is also a sign between the children of Yisra’el and YAHUAH forever (Exo. 31:16-17).

These scriptures are the basis of the Jewish practice of “laying tefillin” in which they bind a leather pouch containing several scriptures to their forehead and wrapping leather straps on their arms and shoulders. The last two scriptures above (Deu 6:8-9) relate to what is known as the “Shema” (Deu 6:4-5) in which is stated we are to love YAHUAH our ELOHIYM with all our hearts, souls and might. If we love Him, we will keep His Commandments which are found in His Torah. All of these signs have to do with keeping YAHUAH’s Torah. The Jews take this literally by “laying tefillin” whereas we look upon this as something we do by obeying His Commandments. The mark of the beast may be something similar, such as what we think in our minds and put into practice with our hands.

Keeping the weekly Sabbath is a test to see if we will obey the rest of YAHUAH’s commandments.

Feast of First Fruits (Bikkurim)

The day following the weekly Sabbath during the Feast of Unleavened Bread is called “First Fruits”(Lev 23:9-14). It is always the first Sunday after Unleavened Bread.

Lev 23:10 Speak unto the children of Yisra’el, and say unto them, When ye be come into the land which I give unto you, and shall reap the harvest thereof, then ye shall bring a sheaf of the firstfruits of your harvest unto the priest:

Lev 23:11 And he shall wave the sheaf before YAHUAH, to be accepted for you: on the morrow after the Sabbath the priest shall wave it.

Lev 23:12 And ye shall offer that day when ye wave the sheaf an he lamb without blemish of the first year for a burnt offering unto YAHUAH.

When the grain crops were ready to be harvested, an omer (about 2 quarts) would be brought to the priest who would then wave it before YAHUAH. This was the first fruits of the harvest and Yisra’el was not allowed to eat of the harvest until the omer had been waved.

The Messianic fulfillment in this is the resurrection of YAHUSHA from the dead as the first fruit or the first born of many sons and daughters to be also raised. There are many verses in the Brit Chadasha (New Testament) that support this idea (Rom 8:29; 1 Cor 15:20,23; Col 1:15; Heb 1:6; Rev 1:5).

When YAHUSHA arose and appeared to Miryam (Mary), he told her to touch him not for he had not yet ascended to his father (Joh 20:17). He was the wave offering before the Father and was also our high priest. This was on the first day of the week (Sunday), the day after the weekly Sabbath.

The Feast of Pentecost (Shavuot)

Pentecost is also called the “Feast of Weeks”. From the time of the offering of the omer (wave sheaf offering), seven weeks are counted unto Pentecost, a period of 50 days. (Lev 23:15-21; Exo 34:22; Deut 16:9-10)

Lev 23:15 And ye shall count unto you from the morrow after the Sabbath, from the day that ye brought the sheaf of the wave offering; seven Sabbaths shall be complete:

Lev 23:16 Even unto the morrow after the seventh Sabbath shall ye number fifty days; and ye shall offer a new meat offering unto YAHUAH.

Pentecost will always fall on a Sunday. But, Pentecost on a Jewish calendar will vary wildly due to their faulty interpretation of the phrase “morrow after the Sabbath” of Lev 23:15. They conclude the Sabbath in question is the first day of unleavened bread which can occur any day of the week. Therefore, their 50 day count will begin the day after that and can fall on any day of the week. However, we know that the Sabbath in question is the weekly Sabbath. The day following the weekly Sabbath is Sunday; therefore 7 complete weeks later will also be on a Sunday.

Two loaves of leavened bread are to be waved before YAHUAH along with 7 sheep of a year old, 1 young bullock and 2 rams. The two loaves are thought to represent the two houses of Yisra’el.

Pentecost celebrates the giving of the Torah on Mount Sinai and is also the giving of the RUACH HA’QODESH (Holy Spirit) 50 days after YAHUSHA ascended to the Father as the wave offering, being the first fruit from the dead. The RUACH is a promise of betrothal in which we are given the earnest of the spirit until the day of our redemption. The keeping of the weekly Sabbath is our wedding band.

Pentecost (Shavuot) is also a high Sabbath in which no servile work is to be done. It is a statute to be observed forever in all your dwellings throughout your generations.

The giving of the Torah in reality was a betrothal contract in which YAHUAH proposed to Yisra’el. Their acceptance is recorded in Exodus 19:8. They were to be a kingdom of priests, but they played the harlot with the molten calf. This was even before Moses could bring back the details of the marriage contract written by the finger of YAHUAH upon the tablets of stone. YAHUAH had the right to put His betrothed to death because of adultery, but only the intercession of Moses saved them. Instead of Yisra’el becoming a kingdom of priests, the Levitical priesthood was created to mediate between them and YAHUAH. At our final redemption, we will become the kingdom of priests YAHUAH desired.

The above are all the spring feasts that were fulfilled at the first coming of YAHUSHA. They were fulfilled on the exact date to that which they represented. Is there any reason to think that the fall feasts will not be fulfilled on the exact date to that which they also pertain?

The Fall Feasts

YAHUAH’S MOEDIM – DIVINE APPOINTMENTS

Feast of Yom Teruah (Trumpets)

The fall feasts begin with the Feast of Trumpets, also known as Yom Teruah and by the Jews as Rosh Hashanah. The name Rosh Hashanah means “head of the year” or “new year” which is an erroneous description of Yom Teruah. It is a result of the pagan influence the Jews picked up in Babylon when they began using pagan names for months. The scriptural beginning of the year is Abiv 1 and occurs in the spring.

According to Jewish tradition, Yom Teruah begins a 10 day period (days of awe) of repentance and forgiveness culminating on Yom Kippur, the Day of Atonement. However, scripture only specifies one day for Yom Teruah and one for Yom Kippur. There is no special scriptural significance given to the 8 days between them. This is another reason that we should not follow Jewish tradition, but to study these things for ourselves.

This memorial of shouting and trumpets begins on the first day of the 7th month. It is the only New (Month) festival. It is a day for a miqra qodesh (Holy convocation), a day in which no servile work is to be done.

Num 29:1 And in the seventh month, on the first day of the month, ye shall have an holy convocation; ye shall do no servile work: it is a day of blowing the trumpets unto you.

This festival is observed by the Jews, according to their tradition, for two days because of the difficulty in ascertaining exactly when the new moon is occurring. It is the only festival that is observed for two days in Yisra’el. It is often referred to as the day only the Father knows. However, according to scripture Yom Teruah.

Yom Teruah is the day of the awakening blast. Teruah means to shout, clamor, a blowing of the trumpets. It will be the time when YAHUSHA will return with a shout at the last blowing of the shofar on Yom Teruah.

1Th 4:16 For YAHUSHA himself shall descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of the archangel, and with the trump of YAHUAH: and the dead in the Messiah shall rise first:

This is when the graves will be opened and the resurrection of the just takes place. The resurrection is not just a New Testament theme; it is also found in the Tanakh (Old Testament). See Isa. 26:19; Dan 12:2 and Eze. 37:12.

The Jews admit that the Torah does not specify the purpose of Yom Teruah, only that teruah means to shout in a loud voice or in unison. Could this be the time when the Jews cry out in a loud voice “Baruch Haba Be’Shem YAHUAH” or “Blessed is he who comes in the name of YAHUAH? (Mat 23:39)

The following is another example of Jewish tradition concerning the period from Yom Teruah to Yom Kippur which is not found in Torah. This is all purely Jewish speculation and imagination.

Jewish belief is that the gates of heaven are opened on this day and will stay open for the 10 day period ending on Yom Kippur. A review is made of all mankind at this time. Three sets of books are opened and men are inscribed into one of those three books during this period. The books are the book of the righteous, the book of the wicked and the book of remembrance or memorial. The righteous are inscribed in the book of righteousness, the wicked are written into the book of the wicked and those that are in between are written into the book of remembrance. They are given another year to repent. The gates of heaven are closed on Yom Kippur and the books are closed. This is why it is a time of repentance and to right all wrongs. Jews will call upon their neighbors during this period to ensure that all is well between them. If it isn’t, it is a time to ask forgiveness and to forgive any wrongs, perceived or otherwise.

Jewish tradition also states that it was on Yom Teruah that Adam was created. They come to that conclusion by rearranging the letters of the first word in Genesis “Bereshith” to read “Alef b’ Tishri” or the first of Tishri.

Yom Kippur (Atonement)

Yom Kippur is called the Day of Atonement. It is observed on the 10th day of the seventh month. Yom Kippur is a Sabbath on which no work is to be done.

Lev 23:27 Also on the tenth day of this seventh month there shall be a day of atonement: it shall be an holy convocation unto you; and ye shall afflict your souls, and offer an offering made by fire unto YAHUAH.

Lev 23:28 And ye shall do no work in that same day: for it is a day of atonement, to make an atonement for you before YAHUAH your ELOHIYM.

Lev 23:29 For whatsoever soul it be that shall not be afflicted in that same day, he shall be cut off from among his people.

Lev 23:30 And whatsoever soul it be that doeth any work in that same day, the same soul will I destroy from among his people.

Lev 23:31 Ye shall do no manner of work: it shall be a statute for ever throughout your generations in all your dwellings.

Lev 23:32 It shall be unto you a Sabbath of rest, and ye shall afflict your souls: in the ninth day of the month at even, from even unto even, shall ye celebrate your Sabbath.

Yom Kippur is the most solemn day on the Hebrew calendar. It is a time of soul searching and fasting.

Atonement is translated from the Hebrew word “kaphar” which means to “cover over”. Our sins are “covered over” by the blood of YAHUSHA. This was the time that the High Priest would go once a year into the Holy of Holies and make 3 confessions; those for his sins, for the sins of the priestly tribe of Levi and lastly, for the nation of Yisra’el. The confession on this date was the only time they actually called aloud upon the set apart name of YAHUAH. This was probably different before the Babylonian captivity, but afterwards the set apart name was prohibited to even utter, except at this one time per year.

The High Priest of Yisra’el would make an offering of a bull and two goats. One of the two goats was known as the scapegoat (Azazel). It was selected by drawing lots; one lot, a white stone was marked for YAHUAH and the other, a black stone for Azazel. According to the Jews, for 200 years prior to 30 AD, the drawing was usually random. The black stone would come up as often as the white one. But after 30 AD and for 40 years prior to the destruction of the temple, the black stone for Azazel came up 40 straight times in the priests right hand.

The sins of the people were laid upon the scapegoat and it was sent off into the wilderness. Also, a scarlet ribbon was tied to a horn of the scapegoat and the other end tied to the door of the temple. It was cut when the scapegoat was sent away. When it died, the ribbon on the temple door turned white signifying that Yisra’el’s sins were forgiven. But after the crucifixion of YAHUSHA in 30 AD, the ribbon never again turned white.

Jewish tradition says that on the final services of Yom Kippur, it was believed that the gates of heaven were once again closed. When the great trumpet was sounded at the close of Yom Kippur, the gates were believed to be closed and the books were shut for another year. This is pure speculation on the part of the Jews as this is not found in scripture.

Sukkot (Feast of Tabernacles or Booths)

This is the last commanded Feast of the year. It is a pilgrimage feast of which there are three – the Feast of Unleavened Bread, Shavuot and Sukkot. It occurs on the 15th day of the 7th month. It is also called Feast of Tabernacles or Booths. It was also known as the Feast of the Ingathering. It was during this time that YAHUSHA was born and tabernacled among us (John 1:14). This is a joyous celebration as the fall harvest is now over and it is time to enjoy the fruits of ones labors. It is a season of joy following the heaviness of Yom Kippur now realizing that our sins have been forgiven. It is a picture of the YAHUAH’S Kingdom during the millennium.

Lev 23:34 Speak unto the children of Yisra’el, saying, The fifteenth day of this seventh month shall be the feast of tabernacles for seven days unto YAHUAH.

Lev 23:35 On the first day shall be an holy convocation: ye shall do no servile work therein.

Lev 23:36 Seven days ye shall offer an offering made by fire unto YAHUAH: on the eighth day shall be an holy convocation unto you; and ye shall offer an offering made by fire unto YAHUAH: it is a solemn assembly; and ye shall do no servile work therein.

During this 7 day festival, we are commanded to build and live in a Sukkah (booth). Sukkot is a time that commemorates the time of Yisra’el in the wilderness when they lived in temporary shelters. We may have to once again live in temporary shelters before returning to the Promised Land.

Lev 23:39 Also in the fifteenth day of the seventh month, when ye have gathered in the fruit of the land, ye shall keep a feast unto YAHUAH seven days: on the first day shall be a Sabbath, and on the eighth day shall be a Sabbath.

Lev 23:40 And ye shall take you on the first day the boughs of goodly trees, branches of palm trees, and the boughs of thick trees, and willows of the brook; and ye shall rejoice before YAHUAH your ELOHIYM seven days.

Lev 23:41 And ye shall keep it a feast unto YAHUAH seven days in the year. It shall be a statute for ever in your generations: ye shall celebrate it in the seventh month.

Lev 23:42 Ye shall dwell in booths seven days; all that are Yisraelites born shall dwell in booths:

Lev 23:43 That your generations may know that I made the children of Yisra’el to dwell in booths, when I brought them out of the land of Egypt: I am YAHUAH your ELOHIYM.

The first day of Sukkot is a high Sabbath in which no servile work is to be done. The 7th and last day of Sukkot is called Hoshanah Rabbah, the great salvation. There is an additional minor festival following Hoshanah Rabbah on the 8th day which is called Shemini Atzeret or the “last great day” and is also a Sabbath in which no servile work is to be done. The Rabbis interpret from the word Atzaret, the meaning to tarry one more day. From this, the Rabbis added an additional festival after Shemini Atzaret and called it Simchat Torah (rejoicing in the Torah). They deem this also to be a Sabbath, but Simchat Torah is not an observance found in scripture. It is only from the imagination of the Rabbis. Therefore, we can ignore it.

The next Feast day established by YAHUAH to be observed is Passover, beginning the cycle all over again. Hanukkah is not a festival we are required to celebrate.

This has been a very simplified overview of the Feasts of YAHUAH to help those who are just beginning to explore the Hebraic roots of their faith. These Feasts are to be understood as rehearsals in YAHUAH’s plan of salvation for mankind. They are types and shadows of things to come for the body of Messiah (Col 2:17).

HalleluYah! All praise to YAHUAH!

The ZADOK CHANOK (Enoch) Calendar

The ZADOK CHANOK (Enoch) Calendar

The Enoch Calendar is shown in the 1st Book Of Enoch and was given by URIEL (YAHUAH’s Messenger) and is the original Zadokite Priestly Calendar that was used in the Torah. The Zadok Enoch Calendar is a 12-Month Solar Calendar having 364 Days Only, and it was used by the antediluvian patriarchs and by Noah, Abraham, and Jacob. It was taught to Moses by YAHUAH and it continued in effect through the 2nd Temple period under Ezra and Nehemiah. It was the official Hebrew calendar until the 2nd Century BCE, when King Antiochus IV Epiphanes ended the use of the Enoch Calendar and forced the Hebrew people (sons of Eber/Heber) to observe the Lunar Calendar.

The New Moon Calendar was the official calendar of the Greeks, and when “Alexander the Great” conquered the Middle East in the 4th century BCE, the Lunar Calendar was introduced and was gradually accepted by most of the people, except for the Hebrew people. In 172 BCE, King Antiochus appointed Menelaus, as Jerusalem’s High Priest, to introduce the Greek way of educating the young people, and to completely Hellenize the Hebrew people. He also sent a Senator from Athens to give the Hebrew people an ultimatum, to forsake the Laws of their YAHUAH ELOHIYM and follow the Kings orders or to be put to death, so most of the Hebrew people followed the Kings orders to save their families, and many were put to death. King Antiochus forced the Hebrew people to celebrate the “Birthday of the Month,” every month, at the time of the moon’s first visibility.

The Ancient Zadokite – Enochian Calendar Based on The Qumran Dead Sea Scrolls

The Ancient Zadokite – Enochian Calendar Based on The Qumran Dead Sea Scrolls

The Vernal Equinox is the day which the Sun passes the equator in the mid point of the Solar Analemma, in Jerusalem Yisrael/Israel. Check for Vernal Equinox in Jerusalem timezone, once we identify the Vernal Equinox is the Scriptural 4th day of the creation week according to the Dead Sea Scrolls and the 4th day of creation is also the 1st day of 1st Month. which is the day the sun was created.

Genesis 1:14-19 This is a 364 day Solar Calendar, the calendar resets at the next day of identified vernal equinox in Spring every year.  Scripturally the new year starts in spring, the 7 days feast of tabernacle falls after the autumn equinox, the feast of trumpets is the day which no man knows the day or hour, but we know the season is around the Autumn Equinox.

“And ELOHIYM appointed the Sun to be a Great Sign on the earth for Days, and for Sabbaths and for Months and for Feasts and for Years and for Sabbaths of Years and for Jubilees and for All Seasons of the Years.” Jubilees 2:9-10

“And the sun and the stars bring in all the years exactly, so that they do not advance or delay their position by a single day unto eternity; but complete the years with perfect justice in 364 days”

 Book of Enoch Chapter 74

“1 And now, my son Methuselah, all these things I am recounting to thee and writing down for thee! and I have revealed to thee everything, and given thee books concerning all these: so preserve, my son Methuselah, the books from thy father’s hand, and (see) that thou deliver them to the generations of the world.

2 I have given Wisdom to thee and to thy children,

[And thy children that shall be to thee],

That they may give it to their children for generations,

This wisdom (namely) that passeth their thought.

3 And those who understand it shall not sleep,

But shall listen with the ear that they may learn this wisdom,

And it shall please those that eat thereof better than good food.” Book of Enoch Chapter 82

BOOK OF ENOCH NOTING THE TURN OF THE YEAR

Enoch 82:4 Blessed are all the righteous ones; blessed are those who walk in the street of righteousness and have no sin like the sinners in the computation of the days in which the sun goes its course in the sky.

It the sun comes in through a door and rises for thirty days together with the chiefs of the thousands of the orders of the stars, together with the four which are added to determine the intervals within the year, that is, the intervals between the four seasons of the year; those that lead them along come in on four days.

Enoch 82:5 On this account there are people that err; they count them the four in the computation of the year: for the people make ERROR and do not recognize them accurately; for they belong to the reckoning of the year.

Very clearly, we are not to count the Spring Equinox, Summer Solstice, Autumnal Equinox or the Winter Solstice as part of the months of the year – these are Seasonal Header Days/Chodesh and Memorial Feast Days to Noah and the flood.

The four of them are not counted as part of the days of the month during the year e.g. the Spring Equinox is not Day 1 of month 1 and to count it as such, as many seem to be doing, is to be in error.

If one plots out the priestly cycles from the Dead Sea Scrolls it becomes very apparent and clear that these four days are counted as 4 Chodesh Header Days + 360 days of the year = 364 days only

THE DAY OF THE GREAT GATE OTOT – the Vernal (Israel) Equinox)

Enoch chapter 71:41 & 42

41. At that period the night is contracted in its length. It becomes ten parts, and the day eight parts. Then the sun goes from that second gate, and sets in the west; but returns to the east, and rises in the east, in the third gate, thirty-one days, setting in the west of heaven.

42. At that period the night becomes shortened. It is nine parts. And the night is equal with the day. The year is precisely three hundred and sixty-four days.

Enoch Chapter 71: 6 to 14

6. First proceeds forth that great luminary, which is called the sun; the orb of which is as the orb of heaven, the whole of it being replete with splendid and flaming fire.

7. Its chariot, where it ascends, the wind blows.

8. The sun sets in heaven, and, returning by the north, to proceed towards the east, is conducted so as to enter by that gate, and illuminate the face of heaven.

9. In the same manner IT GOES FORTH IN THE FIRST MONTH BY A GREAT GATE.

10. It goes forth through THE FOURTH OF THOSE SIX GATES, which are at the rising of the sun.

11. And in the FOURTH GATE, THROUGH WHICH THE SUN WITH THE MOON PROCEEDS, in the first part of it, there are twelve open windows; from which issues out a flame, when they are opened at their proper periods.

12. When the sun rises in heaven, it goes forth through this fourth gate thirty days, and by the fourth gate in the west of heaven on a level with it descends.

13. DURING THAT PERIOD the day is lengthened from the day, and the night curtailed from the night for thirty days. And then the day is longer by two parts than the night.

14. The day is precisely ten parts, and the night is eight.

Explanation of the above verses.

In the 12th month of the Priestly Calendar Solar year, the sun goes through the 3rd Eastern gate and has 31 days. At that period, or in that period of time the night becomes shortened to nine parts and it is equal with the day. In fact the Equilux ( daylight hours verses night hours) which Enoch is referring to above peaks on or about the 16th and 17th  which is 3 to 4 days prior to the Great Gate OTOT event (Vernal Equinox).

Enoch verse 9, Then the sun goes forth in the FIRST MONTH of the Priestly Calendar Solar year, BY A GREAT GATE. And in this fourth gate, through which the SUN WITH THE MOON proceeds, in the first part of it, there are twelve open windows; from which issues out a flame, when they are opened at their proper periods.

In Verse 9, Enoch is talking about a GREAT GATE and the SUN AND THE MOON are ready in going through this GREAT GATE. Enoch does not mention another day like this in the years sun cycle or rotation (Tequfah).

THE SUN GOES FORTH IN THE FIRST MONTH BY A GREAT GATE (Sha’ar Gadol) WITH THE MOON. THIS DAY IS A UNIQUE DAY, DUE TO THE SUN AND THE MOON GOING THROUGH THIS GREAT GATE. THIS IS THE SIGN OF THE OTOT. THIS IS A WAITING TIME,GET READY FOR DECLARING THE DAY 4 OF THE WEEK AVIV 1 TO START A NEW YEAR!

On this day the shadow of the sun is a straight line, as there are no distortions. This day resembles YAHUSHA our fourth branch supporting all the other branches in the Menorah. THIS DAY UNLOCKS THE TRUE SABBATH DAY. THIS DAY IS THE GREAT SIGN FOR AVIV ONE TO BE CELEBRATED ON THE NEXT DAY.

DURING THAT PERIOD of 30 days, this first month of the year, the day is lengthened from the day, and the night curtailed from the night for thirty days. And then the day is longer by two parts than the night. There is a gradual shift from the nights being longer to the days being longer after 16/17th days. Enoch is noting the shift in daylight and darkness hours and how this occurs around the GREAT GATE OTOT DAY

.

(Today we call the GREAT GATE OTOT DAY the Vernal (Yisrael) Equinox)

Zadok Priesthood Calendar

By Restoring the Zadok Priesthood

The discovery of the Dead Sea Scrolls was one of the greatest archaeological finds of all time. Found in 11 caves at Qumran (near the Dead Sea) from 1947 to 1956, and likely written by the Essenes, a Jewish sect in existence before and during the time of YAHUSHA, the Scrolls have transformed our understanding of the Hebrew Scriptures, early Judaism, and the origins of Christianity. At least 972 scrolls were discovered along with some 85,000 fragments. They are dated between 250BC and 68AD. The scrolls are divided into two basic categories: 225 Scriptural scrolls and 747 non-Scriptural scrolls. The non-Scriptural scrolls are further divided into: Apocryphal scrolls, Sectarian scrolls, and Pseudepigraphic scrolls.

The Scriptural scrolls contain multiple copies of the Hebrew Scriptures (Books of the Old Testament) and are the oldest complete texts of the Hebrew Scriptures in existence. Among the Scriptural scrolls are two books most are not familiar with, The Book of Jubilees and the Book of Enoch. Jubilees contains a significant amount of information about the Appointed Times of YAHUAH and Enoch contains the Solar Calendar. As part of the Sectarian scrolls, is the Calendar Scroll, which contains evidence of the calendar the Qumran community kept, it is the same Solar Calendar as prescribed in Enoch. What is interesting is that of the multiple Scriptural texts found there were more copies found of Jubilees and Enoch, 21 copies of the Book of Jubilees and 25 copies of the Book of Enoch, more than the copies of Exodus, Leviticus, Numbers, Jeremiah and the other prophets (expect Isaiah), yet neither of these books made it into the Hebrew Scriptures or Christian Old Testament. The Qumran community who copied these scrolls obviously saw the significance of these two books.

A limestone sundial was discovered at Qumran showing physical evidence that the community were interested in determining the day of the Vernal Equinox. It was designed to measure the sun during the year rather than during the day. After studying it, two researchers concluded “It allows the determination of the cardinal points and fixing a calendar whose seasons are as near as possible to the signs of sun, moon and stars. There is strong supporting evidence that the Qumran calendar was indeed calculated with a method involving actual measuring when the sun arose in the east, as directed by the Book of Enoch.”

The East Gate into the temple use to be called the Sun Gate or Sunrise Gate. The Sun Gate was used to record the vernal and autumnal equinoxes. Before the exile into Babylon it was held to be of imperative necessity that on two days of the year the sun shone directly through the Eastern Gate and through all the Eastern Gates of the Temple arranged in a line, directly into the very heart of the Temple proper. The Eastern Gate also called the Sun Gate served not only to check the equinoxes, when the sun rises exactly in the east, but the solstices as well: a device on the Eastern Gate was designed to reflect the first rays of the sun on the summer and winter solstices, when the sun rises in the southeast and the northeast respectively.” [Extracted from “Worlds in Collision” by Immanuel Veikovsky]. Determining the Equinoxes was important for determining when the year would begin. You need to know the Vernal Equinox to determine the 1st day of the Solar Calendar and YAHUAH had included this in the construction of his temple in the time of King David and Solomon – highlighting the significance of the Zadok Solar Calendar.

Zadok (meaning “Righteous”) was a priest descended from Eleazar the son of Aaron which is the anointed line from which all High Priests must descend. The High Priest Zadok aided King David during the revolt of his son Absalom, and was instrumental in bringing King Solomon to the throne. After Solomon had The First Temple in Jerusalem constructed, Zadok was the first High Priest to serve in The Temple of Solomon.

In 1 Chronicles 28:19 King David says to his son, Solomon, All this is in writing, as YAHUAH, with his hand on me, has given me good sense in working out these detailed plans.” King David was passing on his instructions to Solomon, instructions given to him by the hand of YAHUAH, to build the Temple as YAHUAH had prescribed. The workings of the Zadok Solar Calendar are evident in the construction of YAHUAH’s temple because King David and his High Priest, Zadok, kept the Solar Calendar.

“David the son of Jesse was wise and shone like the light of the sun, a scribe and a man of discernment, blameless in all his ways before YAHUAH and humankind. YAHUAH gave him a brilliant and discerning spirit, so that he wrote: psalms, three thousand six hundred songs to sing before the alter accompanying the daily perpetual burnt offering for all the days of the year three hundred and sixty-four songs, for the Sabbath offerings fifty-two songs, for the new month offerings, the festival days and the Day of Atonement were thirty songs”. This extract found in the Psalms Scroll (from the Dead Sea Scrolls) shows that King David wrote:

  • 364 psalms for each day of the year
  • 52 songs for each weekly Sabbath
  • 30 songs for the Festival Days;
  • The Festival Days are Pesach/Passover (1 day) ,
  • Matzah/ Unleavened Bread (7 days),
  • First Fruits of Barley (1 day), Shavuot/
  • First Fruits of Wheat (1 day),
  • First Fruits of New Wine (1 day),
  • First Fruits of Olive Oil (1 day),
  • Festival of Wood Offering (5 days),
  • Yom Kippur (1 day),
  • Sukkot (8 days) and
  • New Month days (4 days, 1st of the Month beginning of each quarter, these Days are called Days of Remembrance).

With the discerning spirit YAHUAH gave him, David wrote psalms to correspond to the Zadok Solar Calendar’s 364 day, 52 week year and YAHUAH’s moedim.

The Messiah and his lineage comes from The House of Zadok (the High Priest to King David). Those of the line of Zadok are called Zadokites or Zadok Priests and are the only ones qualified to serve in the office of High Priest over Yisrael. This is paramount because if YAHUSHA was to be The Eternal High Priest, and was to be qualified to offer the final sacrifice of The Passover Lamb, he must have been from The House of Zadok to be the Messiah.

In the Gospel accounts, YAHUSHA tells his disciples to enter the city and follow the man with the water pitcher to a home where the disciples prepare the Passover meal in the upper room. In those days men didn’t carry water that was the job of a woman, however, the only men that did carry water were Zadok Priests. The man YAHUSHA told the disciples to follow, carrying the water pitcher, was a Zadok Priest and the home was in the Zadok Priest village on Mt Zion.

In the time of YAHUSHA, the Pharisees and Sadducees followed the Greek Lunar Calendar, the lunar calendar is an Ancient Greek Calendar called the Metonic cycle.  It was founded by a Greek Astronomer called Meton of Athens (5th century BC), and forced on the Yisraelite’s in the time of the Maccabees by Antiochus IV Epiphanes. In the year of YAHUSHA’s death, 30AD, there was one day between the two calendars. The Zadok Solar Calendar was one day ahead of the lunar calendar.

In the New Testament we read that YAHUSHA was arrested and crucified on the day of Passover, yet the night before he is crucified he is partaking of the Passover meal with his disciples. Why would he be partaking of it a day early? If YAHUSHA was without sin, why would He disobey YAHUAH’s law and celebrate a moedim on the wrong day? He wouldn’t have.  YAHUSHA was arrested and crucified on the 14th day of Aviv on the lunar calendar but it was the 15th day of Aviv, the Feast of Unleavened Bread, on the Zadok Solar Calendar. He had observed the Passover the evening prior to his arrest because that was the 14th of Aviv (Passover) on the Zadok Solar Calendar, the calendar He was following. He then spends three days and three nights in the grave and rises on the weekly Sabbath. On the Zadok Solar Calendar the Weekly Sabbath is three days and three nights after the 15th of Aviv, the day YAHUSHA was crucified. The Zadok Solar Calendar fits perfectly to these time frames and confirms the testimony of the Gospels; YAHUSHA was keeping this calendar to fulfill his coming as the Messiah.

The destruction of the Temple in 70AD was the turning point or upheaval from the Zadok Priesthood who adhered to the Solar Calendar, with the Jewish people dispersed from Jerusalem, the Greek Lunar Calendar took prominence and has remained with Rabbinical Judaism to this day. The Rabbinical lunar year is about eleven days shorter than the solar year and uses the 19-year Metonic cycle to bring it into line with the solar year, with the addition of an intercalary month every two or three years, for a total of seven times per 19 years. Even with this intercalation, the average Rabbinical calendar year is longer by about 6 minutes and 40 seconds than the current mean tropical year, so that every 216 years the Rabbinical calendar will fall a day behind the current mean solar year; and about every 231 years it will fall a day behind the Gregorian (Western) calendar year.

In addition to changes to the calendar, scripture has been changed. One of the significant, but subtle, changes is in the verses in Genesis 1:14-16,Let there be two great lights”. The moon is not a light; it reflects the light of the sun. The “let there be is a singular verb form ‘yehi’, which has been changed to a plural verb. The verse should read “Let there be a great light”. This parallels with the book of Jubilees.  Jubilees 2:9“And YAHUAH appointed the sun to be a great sign on the earth for days and for Sabbaths and for months and for Feasts and for years and for Sabbaths of years and for Jubilees and for all seasons of the years”. Jubilees 6:36-37“For there will be those who will assuredly make observations of the moon -how (it) disturbs the seasons and comes in from year to year ten days too soon. For this reason the years will come upon them when they will disturb (the order), and make an abominable (day) the day of testimony, and an unclean day a Feast day, and they will confound all the days, the Holy with the Unclean, and the Unclean day with the Holy; for they will go wrong as to the Months and Sabbaths and Feasts and Jubilees”.

P.S. The resource is taken from the Book, “The Three Temples”, by Rachel Elior. Chapter 5–The Sin of the Watchers and the Lunar Calendar, page 131. As follows

Qumranic version of Jubilees—He appointed the sun as a great sign above the earth for days, for Sabbaths, for months, for appointed times, for years, for the weeks of years, for Jubilees and for all the cycles of the years.

While the parallel text in Genesis uses the plural (in all textual witnesses) “Let there be lights…..; they shall serve as signs for the set times”. The Hebrew original however presents a linguistic difficulty of possible significance– the singular verbal form “yehi” translated here as “let there be” clashing with the plural “lights” raises questions as to the traditional text, as already noted by Onkelos (the Aramaic translator of the Pentateuch), who changed the verb to the plural in his Aramaic translation.

The community Rule, too, refers only to the “greater light” in connection with calculations of the festivals and other appointed times.

YAHUAH is an agricultural ELOHIYM and the Zadok Solar Calendar is an agricultural calendar. The lunar calendar is a religious calendar. The rabbinic’s of today use the Gregorian solar calendar for their Sabbaths and the lunar calendar for the moedim. Is this scriptural?

“But with the remnant which hold fast to the commandments of YAHUAH. He made His Covenant with Israel forever, revealing to them the hidden things in which all Yisrael had gone astray. He unfolded before them His Holy Sabbaths and His Glorious Feasts, His Truth and the desires of His Will which a man must do in order to live”Damascus Document from the Dead Sea Scrolls.

Who has Believed our Message?

by The Zadok Priesthood Solar Calendar

Who has believed our message? The message of the Prophets.

And to whom has the Arm of YAHUAH been revealed? Isaiah 53:1

Who has believed our message and to whom has YAHUAH’s Calendar been revealed?

The Zadokite Priesthood had to flee the Temple due to the invasion by Antiochus IV Epiphanies. They took with them the sacred scrolls and literature. They took with them the knowledge of YAHUAH’s Calendar. The Zadokite Priesthood lived out in the wilderness. Later Onias IV (a Zadokite High Priest) had gone with, a number of those who remained loyal to his father’s memory to Egypt, where he obtained permission from the Egyptian king to rebuild a disused Temple at *Leontopolis (On) and to appoint “Priests of his own race” to serve in it. This Zadokite Priesthood presided over the Temple at Leontopolis until it was closed by Vespasian in 73 C.E.

Isaiah 19: 18-21, is a prophecy relating to Onias lV serving YAHUAH in Egypt, called the “City of Destruction” in our Scriptures, but in the Dead Sea Scrolls and the Septuagint it is called the “City of the Sun” (that is Heliopolis). The reputation which the Temple of Onias enjoyed is indicated by the fact that the Septuagint, written in the Jewish community of Alexandria, changes the phrase “City of Destruction” to “City of Righteousness.” Also a village on Mount Zion was inhabited by the Zadokites and YAHUSHA had His Last Passover in a Zadokite home on Mt Zion.

Since the discovery of the Dead Sea Scrolls in 1947, we now have a better understanding of the history from 180BC to maybe 130AD. Because of the Dead Sea Scrolls we know that YAHUAH’s Priests, the Zadokites kept a Solar Calendar. The Zealots who were living on the top of Masada for 5 years throughout the time of the destruction of the Jerusalem Temple, 70 AD, also kept the same Solar calendar, as they had identical Scrolls, that where found in the Qumran caves.

Taken from Rachel Eliors Book,”The Three temples”, page 36. “The priestly group whose works were found at Qumran were adamantly opposed to the Temple cult of their time. The Temple cult being the Pharisees and Sadducee’s. They rejected the lunar calendar then governing the Temple in Jerusalem and instead upheld the superiority of a calendar based on the Solar year, demanding that the regular succession of Sabbaths and Festivals be derived from that Calendar. Up until the destruction of the second Temple, they fought for the concept of the Covenant and the Festival of Oaths or Covenants, also known as the Festival of Weeks (Shavuot), for every dimension of the sacred service that explicitly involved any aspect of cycle, number, date, fixed time, and counting, thus reflecting the regularity of the cosmic order, they stressed observance of the laws of purity and the rules of the Temple service associated with the perception of sacred place; and insisted on the superior right of the Zadokite priests to settle any question to Temple rituals and matters of purity and impurity, by virtue of their divine election to serve in the Temple and their eternal, sacred, heaven-granted authority.

In much of the Zadokite priestly struggle over questions relating to the calendar, the festivals and the administration of Temple affairs , they relied on traditions of angelic origin found in Enoch, Jubilees, the Rule Scroll and the Songs of the Sabbath Sacrifice.. They saw themselves as a congregation or community revolving, so they believed, in an angelic and priestly oneness or togetherness, beyond time, from which derived the authority and legitimacy of their traditions, laws and sacred service: they referred to themselves as a community of Yahad.

The angels were witnesses to the Covenant, guardians of the Calendar of Sabbaths and Festivals and partners in sacred rites that conformed to the cyclic Solar Calendar, with its subdivision into quarters (seasons) and Sabbaths (weeks).”

The Zadok Priesthood Solar Calendar

This Calendar BEGINS EVERY YEAR Following THE VERNAL EQUINOX (Israel) being identified: The next day of the Equinox is DAY ONE of the 364 day year of divine appointments.

The 12 months of the year are broken into 4 quarters, each quarter being 30 days, 30 days and 31 days. And each quarter has 13 Weekly Sabbaths.

To find the Weekly Sabbath, and this rule only applies to finding the Weekly Sabbath, Day One (the day after the Vernal Equinox being identified) becomes day 4 of the week and you count 5,6,7. The 7th day of this count is the Weekly Sabbath for the 364 days.

Example, As for this year 2017, the 21st of March was the Vernal Equinox (Israel). The 22nd of March is DAY ONE of the Calendar count for the 364 days of the Year. To find the Weekly Sabbath, Day ONE becomes day 4 of the week, then 5, 6, and 7. The 7 falling on the 25th of March a Saturday. So Saturday is the Weekly Sabbath for this complete year of the Solar Calendar.

Now we can plot YAHUAH’s Moedim.

Passover is on the 14th of the 1st month (Aviv)

Unleavened Bread is from the 15th to the 21st of the 1st month.

First Fruits of Barley is on the 26th of the 1st month, a 50 day count to–

First Fruits of Wheat (Shavuot) , the 15th of the 3rd month, a 50 day count to–

First Fruits of Wine, the 3rd of the 5th month, a 50 day count to—

First Fruits of Oil, the 22nd of the 6th month

Wood Offerings is from the 23rd to the 28th day. The 28th day is a Weekly Sabbath

The Day of Trumpets is on the first day of the 7th month

The Day of Atonement begins at sunset on the 9th day of the 7th month and finishes at sunset on the10th day. The weekly Sabbath falling on the 11th.

The Feast of Tabernacles, is from the 15th day to the 21st day of the 7th month, and the 8th day on the 22nd.

There are also 4 days of Remembrance these are on the 1st of Aviv, the 1st of the 4th month, the 1st of the 7th month and the 1st of the 10th month.

This Zadokite Solar Calendar is YAHUAH’s Calendar, a Calendar of Sacred Time, Sacred Place and Sacred Rituals.

Every Weekly Sabbath, a Sabbath Sacrifice Song was sung, these were rotated around the 4 quarters in the year.

The last 4 days of the year and the first 4 days of the next year is called THE CREATION WEEK.

All of the Moedim perfectly fit the Ancient Hebrew Betrothal and Marriage customs.

The First Fruits of Barley is outside of the Unleavened Bread Week.

All the dates above are exactly taken from the Dead Sea Scrolls.

It says in the Dead Sea Scrolls that YAHUAH will confirm His Appointments and He has and keeps doing so, as each Moedim and Weekly Sabbath comes.

We do not add to or subtract from the Weekly Sabbaths and Moedim as above.

YAHUAH’s Calendar is more than a Calendar it is a relationship with our Heavenly Father. With each Divine Appointment, He reveals more of Himself and His kingdom to us.

All Esteem, Praise and Honor to YAHUAH and His Son YAHUSHA.

WHAT IS A JEW?

WHAT IS A JEW?

A Jew is a person who practice the religion of Judaism.

Jew does not mean a descendant of Ancient Yisra’el. The Ancient Hebrews were not called Jews, that is a mistranslation, Jew is not a Hebrew Word, its English.

Jew is a word that was created by Gentiles and given to the Yiaraelite Tribe of Yahudah (Judah).

YAHUAH The Most High didn’t give His people the name Jew, this was done by men.

Jew is not in the 1611 KJV of the Bible.

The Ancient Hebrew Yisraelites were not Jews neither are their descendants.

But if you practice the religion of Judaism or subscribe to the Jewish culture or traditions, then you can be called a Jew.
