Hanukkah – Truth or Tradition?

Whenever anyone mentions the word ‘Hanukkah’, the immediate thought is centered around a Jewish feast that is celebrated around the time of Christmas. According to Jewish teaching, this feast must be observed from the 25th of the 9th month, which is known by its Babylonian name Kislev, for 8 days. While this has become possibly the most important time of the year for orthodox Jews, many who have come out of mainstream Christianity in order to walk in the Torah and learn their true Hebraic roots, find themselves being emotionally attached to this feast of Hanukkah, and look to Rabbinic sources to find out how they are to keep it. 

Should this feast be kept or not? 

Is this feast centered around traditional commands of men or is it Scripturally commanded for us to observe? 

I hope to dispel any doubts that some may have regarding this feast, and answer some questions on the origin of this feast and whether the adopted customs are to be observed or not.

For most who have an idea of what Hanukkah is about, will most probably tell you that it centers around a miracle of how a small amount of oil lasted for 8 days in keeping the Menorah alight, at the time of the rededication of the temple, after the Maccabean revolt against the Greeks, and there is a tradition of lighting candles each night. What about this summary is true and what is tradition?

 In order to do that, it is always best to look at the writings we have available to us that describe the details of the events that center around this feast, which also became known as the festival of lights.

Firstly I want to look at the accounts as written in 1 and 2 Maccabees:

The historical event that culminated in what is known as Hanukkah, is clearly outlined in 1 & 2 Maccabees, which was recorded within a couple of decades after the events that took place. 1 & 2 Maccabees are parallel accounts, believed to have been written by two different authors, who describe similar events.

The story begins in 168 B.C.E (Before the Common Era), when the land of Yashar’el was being ruled by the evil Seleucid Greek king Antiochus IV.

Antiochus IV believed that his empire would be more secure if all his subjects became more Greek. 168 B.C.E. He issued a decree that would force all his subjects to adopt the Greek culture and only worship the Greek gods. This process was called Hellenization (to make one Greek), and was primarily accepted by most who saw the Greek way being more advanced and culturally relevant. The Yahuḏiym (Jews) of the time refused to submit to this Hellenization process and therefore Antiochus issued a series of laws that were designed to suppress Torah observance:

1 Maccabees 1:44-50 “And the king sent letters by messengers to Yerushalayim and the cities of Yahuḏah; he directed them to follow customs strange to the land, to forbid burnt offerings and sacrifices and drink offerings in the temple, to profane Sabbaths and feasts, to defile the temple and the set-apart people: Set up altars and sacred precincts and shrines for idols, to sacrifice swine and unclean animals, and to leave their sons uncircumcised. They were to make themselves abominable by everything unclean and profane, so that they should forget the Torah and change all the ordinances. And whoever does not obey the command of the king shall die.”

In order to carry this out, the first thing the Greeks did was capture the temple and sacrifice pigs on the Slaughter-Place to their pagan god Zeus. They then forced each Yahuḏi home set up an altar to the Greek sun-gods at their homes. Public altars were set up all over the city and Yahuḏi were forced to eat pigs that were sacrificed to Zeus.

It was on the 15th day of the 9th month (Kislev) that the abomination of desolation was set up on the Slaughter-Place in the Temple. They then destroyed and burnt any Torah writings that were found and on the 25th day of the 9th month they sacrificed a pig on the Slaughter-Place of ELOHIYM.

They hung the children and killed all who had circumcised them. Many Yahuḏi chose not to eat pig and profane the Covenant, and chose to rather be put to death instead of being Hellenized.

In those days there was a priest from a small town in Shomeron whose name was Matthias (Mattithyahu), son of Yoḥanan, who along with his sons tore their garments and lamented the invasion of the Greeks and the desolation of the Temple; and when the Greeks came to their town Matthias and his sons gathered with all the people of the town, and they openly refused to submit to the Greeks and would not forsake the Torah of ELOHIYM, and called all who were zealous for the Torah and held fast the Covenant of ELOHIYM in order to faithfully follow him. He and his sons then fled to the mountains, and they became outlaws.

The Greeks pursued many who had fled to the wilderness, and came to fight against them on a Sabbath and killed a thousand people, who refused to lift a stone on the Sabbath against the attacking Greeks. Matthias heard about this and mourned. Matthias and his sons then resolved to stand up and fight and went around breaking down all the abominable slaughter places that had been set up by the Greeks, and he recovered the Torah from the Greeks.

When it came for Matthias to die, he told his sons to be zealous for the Torah, and be ready to give their lives for the Covenant of their fathers, as he reminded them of the faith of Aḇraham, Yosĕph, Pineḥas, Yahusha, Kaleb, Dwiḏ and Dani’ěl, encouraging them not to be afraid of sinful men.

He then made his son Yahuḏah Maccabaeus their captain, and commanded them to observe the Torah and avenge the wrong of their people. Yahuḏah Maccabee then rose up and became like a lion avenging his people, and grieved many kings. After 3 years of intense fighting against the Greeks, Yahuḏah Maccabee and his army defeated the Greeks and took back the Temple. After mourning and fasting over the defilement of the Temple they tore down the abominable slaughter-place to Zeus upon which pigs were slaughtered and proceeded to cleanse the Temple.

1 Maccabees 4:43-47 “and they cleansed the Temple and removed the defiled stones to an unclean place. They deliberated what to do about the slaughter-place of burnt offering, which had been profaned. And they thought it best to tear it down, lest it bring reproach upon them, for the Gentiles had defiled it. So they tore down the altar, and stored the stones in a convenient place on the temple hill until there should come a prophet to tell what to do with them. Then they took unhewn stones, as the law directs, and built a new slaughter-place like the former one.”

They built a new slaughter-place of unhewn stones as it stipulates in Shemoth/Exodus 20:24-26, and restored the true set-apart vessels for the service of the Temple:

1 Maccabees 4:48-51 “They also rebuilt the sanctuary and the interior of the temple, and consecrated the courts. They made new holy vessels, and brought the lamp stand, the altar of incense, and the table into the temple. Then they burned incense on the altar and lighted the lamps on the lamp stand, and these gave light in the temple. They placed the bread on the table and hung up the curtains. Thus they finished all the work they had undertaken.”

   After they had restored the Temple, it was time to dedicate it and make it fit and clean for service, and re-establish the sacrifices that had not been done for the 3 years that the Greeks had defiled the Temple.

This re-dedication of the Slaughter-Place took place on the 25th of the 9th month – 3 years to the day after the Greeks had defiled the Temple by offering a pig on the Slaughter-Place.

1 Maccabees 4:52-59 “Early in the morning on the twenty-fifth day of the ninth month, which is the month of Kislev, in the one hundred and forty-eighth year, they rose and offered sacrifice, as the Torah directs, on the new Slaughter-Place of burnt offering which they had built. Look at what time, and what day the heathen had profaned it, even in that it was dedicated with songs, and citterns, and harps, & cymbals. Then all the people fell upon their faces, worshipping and praising the ELOHIYM of heaven, who had given them good success. So they celebrated the dedication of the Slaughter-Place for eight days, and offered burnt offerings with gladness; they offered a sacrifice of deliverance and praise. They decked front of the temple with crowns of gold; and with shields, and the gates, and the chambers they renewed and hanged doors upon them. Therefore there was great gladness among the people, for that the reproach of the heathen was put away. Then Yahuḏah and his brothers and all the assembly of Yashar’el determined that every year at that season the days of dedication of the altar should be observed with gladness and joy for eight days, beginning with the twenty-fifth day of the month of Kislev.”

We also have a similar record being given in 2 Maccabees:

2 Maccabees 10:5-8 “It happened that on the same day on which the temple had been profaned by the foreigners, the purification of the temple took place, that is, on the twenty-fifth day of the same month, which was Kislev. And they celebrated it for eight days with rejoicing, remembering that not long before they had held the Feast of Tabernacles when, as they wandered in the mountains and caves, like beasts. Therefore they bore branches, and fair boughs and palms also, and sang Psalms unto Him, that had given them good success in cleansing His place. They decreed by public ordinance and vote that the whole nation of the Yahuḏiym should observe these days every year.”

As we see these words contained in 1 & 2 Maccabees, we need to make a couple of observations that will help us discern between what happened historically and what is being celebrated as a tradition today.

One of the most notable things that we should see here, is the clear fact that no mention of oil and the miraculous supply of oil that supposedly caused the Menorah to burn for 8 days, nor the making of an 8 or 9 lampstand. The Lamps and lampstand is mentioned, yes, as well as the table of showbread and other utensils that were restored in order to perform the Scriptural requirements in the Temple service. What is very clear is that there is NO MAGICAL OIL!!!

These accounts contain the most detailed records of these events and with there being no mention of what many have been taught to believe, leaves us with a very big question of where this ‘traditional story’ of the miraculous supply of oil comes from, as being the central theme, according to tradition, of this modern day feast!

The whole reason for this great celebration and dedication that took place, was for the dedication of the Slaughter-Place, and the fact that they could enjoy this time of feasting and celebration like the Feast of Sukkoth (Tabernacles), which they had not been able to celebrate correctly for 3 years due to the Greek oppression and defilement of the Temple.

This celebration and ‘dedication’ had nothing to do with oil or its supposed miraculous supply, but rather had to do specifically with the ‘dedication of the Slaughter- place’.

The Hebrew word for ‘dedication’ is חֲנֻכָּה ḥanukkah – Strong’s H2598 both meaning, ‘dedication, consecration’, and corresponds to the Aramaic word חֲנֻכָּה ḥanukkah – Strong’s 2597 which we find being used in the book of Dani’ěl.

These two words are collectively used 12 times in Scripture. The Aramaic word is used twice in Dani’ěl in the wicked kings call for the dedicating of his wicked image, and twice in Ezra when the Temple of Ělah was dedicated. The Hebrew word is used 8 times in Scripture – 5 times in direct reference to the offerings of dedication, and consecration brought for the slaughter place, and twice it is used for the dedication of the walls of Yerushalayim, that was done with great joy; and once it used as a title of a Tehillim/Psalm at the dedication of the House of Dawiḏ.

As we read above from 1 Maccabees 4:56, they celebrated the dedication of the Slaughter-Place for 8 days, and not the miraculous provision of oil, that many focus on today according to traditions that have been taught!

When we ask why the dedication lasted 8 days, we need to see how this was a joyful response at wanting to dedicate the Slaughter-Place and give thanks to ELOHIYM, in celebrating this dedication the way they would celebrate

Sukkot/Tabernacles – as we clearly have read that they celebrated with palms, branches of trees etc., and did so with great rejoicing – for Sukkot is a commanded feast for rejoicing, which too lasts for 8 days (the command is to dwell in Booths for 7 days and on the 8th day have a closing ceremony).

We can see from Scripture that there is no set period that is repeated for the amount of time the Slaughter-Place was to be dedicated, as we see in:

Bemiḏbar/Numbers 7:11 “And YAHUAH said to Mosheh, “Let them bring their offering, one leader each day, for the dedication of the Slaughter-Place.”

The Slaughter-Place was dedicated for 12 days!

Bemiḏbar/Numbers 7:84 “This was the dedication of the Slaughter-Place from the leaders of Yashar’el, when it was anointed: twelve silver dishes, twelve silver bowls, twelve gold ladles.”

At the dedication of the Slaughter-Place of the Temple we see in:

Diḇre haYamim Bet/2 Chronicles 7:9-10 “And on the eighth day they held an assembly, for they performed the dedication of the Slaughter-Place seven days, and the festival seven days. And on the twenty-third day of the seventh month he sent the people away to their tents, rejoicing and glad of heart for the goodness that YAHUAH had done for Dawiḏ, and for Shelomoh, and for His people Yashar’el.”

Shelomoh had performed the dedication for 7 days and then they held the Feast of Sukkot (Tabernacles) for 7 days, and after the 8th day of Sukkot (Tabernacles) he sent the people away to their tents. Please note, in Wayyiqra/Leviticus 23:34 that Sukkot (The Feast of Tabernacles) is commanded to begin on the fifteenth day of the seventh month and is to last 7 days and in Wayyiqra/Leviticus 23:26, there is an eighth day. The twenty-third day of the seventh month would have been the last of Sukkot (The Feast of Tabernacles).

Ezra 3:2-4 “And Yahusha son of Yotsaḏa and his brothers the priests, and erubbaḇel son of She’alti’ěl and his brothers, arose and built the Slaughter-Place of the ELOHIYM of Yashar’el, to offer burnt offerings on it, as it is written in the Torah of Mosheh, the man of ELOHIYM. So they set the Slaughter-Place on its stands, being afraid of the peoples of the lands. And they offered burnt offerings on it to YAHUAH, both the morning and evening burnt offerings. And they performed the Festival of Booths, as it is written, and the daily burnt offerings by number, according to the right-ruling for each day”

Here in the 7th month they rebuilt the Slaughter-Place and performed sacrifices on it and kept Sukkot, even though they had not yet finished rebuilding the Temple! In this account we are told that the Slaughter- place was ‘set up ’ and not dedicated, as the Temple had not yet been completed and the proper dedication only took place a number of years later in:

Ezra 6:16-17 “Then the children of Yashar’el, the priests and the Lěwites and the rest of the sons of the exile, did the dedication of this House of Ělah with joy, and offered at the dedication of this House of Ělah one hundred bulls, two hundred rams, four hundred lambs, and as a sin offering for all Yashar’el twelve male goats, according to the number of the tribes of Yashar’el.”

In Neḥemyah we have the account of the dedication of the walls taking place:

Neḥemyah/Nehemiah 12:27 “And at the dedication of the wall of Yerushalayim they sought out the Lěwites in all their places, to bring them to Yerushalayim to perform the dedication with gladness, and with thanksgivings, and with singing, cymbals, harps and lyres.”

In all of the 4 accounts of dedication we have in Scripture in regards to the Slaughter-Place or Temple or walls, we find that these dedications were not done according to a set number of days, or at a specific time. What we do see in Scripture, however, is a repeated picture of dedication or renewal of covenant often taking place in the 7th month, which pictures for us the fullness of YAHUAH dwelling with His restored people!

According to Maccabees this feast of dedication was done with the intention to make up for the Feast of Sukkot which had not been properly kept.

   The question we must ask ourselves is whether or not this can stand as a mandated feast for us to follow? Should we, as Followers of Yah really be celebrating any holiday that YAHUAH himself did not command us?

In The Torah we do have the instructions regarding those who are able to perform the Pěsach (Passover) in the second month, yet does this standard apply to other feasts?

Bemiḏbar/Numbers 9:10-13 “Speak to the children of Yasahr’el, saying, ‘When any male of you or your generations is unclean for a being, or is far away on a journey, he shall still perform the Passover of YAHUAH. ‘On the fourteenth day of the second month, between the evenings, they perform it – with unleavened bread and bitter herbs they eat it. ‘They do not leave of it until morning, and they do not break a bone of it. According to all the laws of the Passover they perform it. ‘But the man who is clean and is not on a journey, and has failed to perform the Passover, that same being shall be cut off from among his people, because he did not bring the offering of YAHUAH at its appointed time – that man bears his sin.”

The Maccabees had missed Sukkot, and in a manner of speaking they held a ‘second Sukkot’, which we can clearly see was done with great joy in celebrating a great win over the enemy.

What we must ask ourselves is whether or not this can now be practiced today, as a second Sukkot! We see that this feast of dedication was identified with the Feast of Sukkot in:

2 Maccabees 1:9 “And now see that you keep the Feast of Tabernacles in the month Kislev.”

The month of ‘Kislev’, as it was known from the Baḇylonian exile, as I have already mentioned, is the 9th month!

Does this instruction from Yahuḏah Maccabee have the authority to change the Appointed Times of YAHUAH? The answer is absolutely NOT!!!

After this victory they wrote to the Yahuḏiym in Mitsrayim and said in:

2 Maccabees 1:18 “Therefore whereas we are now purposed to keep the purification of the Temple upon the twenty fifth day of the month Kislev, we thought it necessary to notify you thereof, that ye also might keep it, as the of the feast tabernacles, and of the fire when Neḥemyah offered sacrifice, after that he had built the Temple, and the Slaughter-Place.”

Here we clearly see, once again, that this dedication was referred to being like the Feast of Sukkot/Tabernacles, and had nothing to do with a miraculous story of oil that lasted 8 days!

In the years that followed, when they were able to keep Sukkot in the correct month – that is the 7th month, the Yahuḏiym continued to keep this feast of dedication and even referred to it as ‘2nd Sukkot’, or ‘Sukkot in the month islev’.

Did the Maccabees have a right to establish such a feast?

In Scripture we have an account of a wicked king who established his own timing of feasts, that were like the feast of the Yahuḏiym:

Melaḵim Aleph/1 Kings 12:32-33 “And Yaroḇ’am performed a festival on the fifteenth day of the eighth month, like the festival that was in Yahuḏah, and he offered on the altar. So he did at Bĕyth Ěl, slaughtering to the calves that he had made. And at Bĕyth Ěl he appointed the priests of the high places which he had made. And he made offerings on the altar which he had made at Bĕyth Ěl on the fifteenth day of the eighth month, in the month which he had devised in his own heart. And he performed a festival for the children of Yashar’el, and offered on the altar and burned incense.”

This was one of the sins of Yaroḇ’am that provoked YAHUAH! Yaroḇ’am established his own feast just one month after Sukkot, while the Maccabees had their second Sukkot 2 months and 10 days after the Appointed Time, which has no Scriptural precedent for them to do this! We certainly recognize that this was the first time that they could actually perform a festival to YAHUAH, after being under the wicked control of the Greeks. Justified or not, it is very clear that the 8 days celebration was a substitute for the feast that they had missed!

Does this establish a lawful precedent, or do we adhere to YAHUAH’s Appointed calendar – I think that the answer is fairly obvious at this point.

 Josephus also records the events around this dedication in Book 12 chapter 7:

7 “(323) Now Yahuḏah celebrated the festival of the restoration of the sacrifices of the temple for eight days; and omitted no sort of pleasures thereon: but he feasted them upon very rich and splendid sacrifices; and he honored ELOHIYM, and delighted them, by hymns and psalms. (324) Nay, they were so very glad at the revival of their customs, when after a long time of intermission, they unexpectedly had regained the freedom of their worship, that they made it a law for their posterity, that they should keep a festival, on account of the restoration of their temple worship, for eight days. (325) And from that time to this we celebrate this festival, and call it Lights.[Why do we call it lights?] I suppose the reason was, because this liberty beyond our hopes appeared to us; and that thence was the name given to that festival. (326) Yahuḏah also rebuilt the walls round about the city, and reared towers of great height against the incursions of enemies, and set guards therein. He also fortified the city Bethsura, that it might serve as a citadel against any distresses that might come from our enemies.”

At the time of Josephus, this festival became known as the festival of lights, and what we can notice here is that Josephus says nothing about a miraculous oil that lasted 8 days, but rather says that this may have been called ‘lights’ because of the freedom that was brought to Yashar’el after an oppressive time! By the style of his writing, we can see that he is not really sure why it was called lights!

The first time we see any record of Hanukkah having anything to do with a new kind of Menorah and the miraculous supply of oils is in 200 C.E. as contained in the Baḇylonian Talmud!!! Special Hanukkah lamps have their origin in the Baḇylonian Talmud too!!!

“The rabbis taught: The law of ‘Hanukah demands that every man should light one lamp for himself and his household. Those who seek to fulfil it well have a lamp lit for every member of the household. Those who seek to fulfil the law in the best possible manner should light according to Beth Shamai the first night eight flames, and every following night one flame less. And according to Beth Hillel the reverse–the first night one lamp, and be increased by one on each succeeding night. Said Rabba b. b. Hana in the name of R. Johanan: “There were two sages in Zidon; one did according to the decision of Shamai’s school, and gave the reason that the ‘Hanukah lamp is to be lit in the same manner as the sacrifices of the feast were offered, and the other according to the school of Hillel, with the reason that holy actions should show (emblemize) increase and not reduction. 

The rabbis taught: It is a merit to put the ‘Hanukah lamp on the outside door of the house; and he who lives in an attic puts it in a window that opens into the street. In time of danger, however, it is sufficient if the lights are on the table. Said Rabha: In the latter case another light is required to work by; but if there is a hearth-fire in the house, it is not necessary. However, if the man is of high standing (and not in the habit of working by the hearth-light) he must have another lamp.

What is ‘Hanukah? The rabbis taught: “On the twenty-fifth day of Kislev ‘Hanukah commences and lasts eight days, on which lamenting (in commemoration of the dead) and fasting are prohibited. When the Hellenists entered the sanctuary, they defiled all the oil that was found there. When the government of the House of Asmoneans prevailed and conquered them, oil was sought (to feed the holy lamp in the sanctuary) and only one vial was found with the seal of the high priest intact. The vial contained sufficient oil for one day only, but a miracle occurred, and it fed the holy lamp eight days in succession. These eight days were the following year established as days of good cheer, on which psalms of praise and acknowledgment (of G-d’s wonders) were to be recited.” 

(Babylonian Talmud, Tractate Shabbat, page 21b) -reading on one can see the many burdensome laws and traditions of the Hanukah light.

 When we consider this ‘festival of lights’, we can so easily be steered toward the influence of many pagan worship practices that are also referred to as being festivals of lights – Hindus celebrate Diwali (festival of lights) and much of modernized Christmas celebrations that are centered around lights, have their roots in ancient Roman pagan worship rites. There are even the many pagan influences of the specific practice of candle lighting! Birthdays, Halloween, Kabbalistic Worship of Candle light on the Sabbath, Witchcraft, Christmas tree candles, etc. Here is some quick information on the pagan practice and tradition of lighting candles.

-Sabbath Candle Lighting-

According to ask Moses.com,

This practice originated from Jewish Mysticism, known as Kabbalah.

AskMoses.com then continues, “Here’s where the magic happens! With the candle lit, the Jewish woman goes Kabbalistic. After drawing her hands inward three times to internalize the Shabbat Spirit, she then covoers her face with her hands and says the blessing…”

Baruch atta Ado-noy Elo-hai-nu Melech ha’olam asher kid-sha-nu b’mitz-vo-tav v’tzi-vanu li-had-leek ner shel Shabbat Kodesh.

[Blessed are You Lord, our G-d, King of the universe, who has sanctified us with His commandments and commanded us to kindle the light of the Holy Shabbat].

One might wonder, where is this command to light Shabbat candles before the Shabbat?

AskMoses.com claims “lighting Shabbat Candles were practiced by Sarah in the Bible in the book of Genesis. Yet, the link they provide is not the Bible at all but merely Rashi’s (a Talmud Rabbi’s) interpretation of Genesis.”

A young Jewish lady on YouTube instructs people on how to practice Shabbat candle lighing. She states: “It is taught in Kabbalah that when we light Shabbat candles, we access the original light of creation to reveal the divine in all things and restore the original light that’s shown in the Garden of Eden.”

We cannot look over the superstitious ritual origins of lighting candles on the Shabbat also:

“The Commandment of Sabbath candles was given to the women of the holy people that they might kindle lights. The sages said that because Eve extinguished the light of the world and made the cosmos dark by her sin, [women] must kindle lights for the Sabbath. But this is the reason for it: Because the Shelter of Peace [ = the Shekhinah] rests on us during the Sabbath, on the [Sabbath-]souls, it is therefore proper for us to do below, in this form, as it is done above [within the G-dhead], to kindle the lights. Therefore, because the two souls shine on the Sabbath, they [women] must light two candles…. Therefore, by kindling the lambs for the holy Sabbath, we awaken great arousal in the upper world. And when the woman kindles the lights, it is fitting to her to kindle [them] with joy and with wholeheartedness, because it is in honor of the Shekhinah and in honor of the Sabbath and in honor of the extra [Sabbath] soul. Thus she will be privileged to have holy children…. And by this means she give her husband long life.”

-Part of Witchcraft-

A former African witchdoctor who practiced witchcraft for over twenty years said that demons are attracted to the substance candles are made out of. Candles were a part of his witchcraft. It does not matter what color, shape, or smell they have. When lit, the smell of the candle also calls on another big time demon.

Let it also be noted the real reason for placing candles in the jack-o-lantern on Halloween. Not only was it thought to ward off evil spirits, but it was the mark of the demons. According to the rituals of Halloween, if one had a pumpkin on their porch it was a sign for the demons that they have already came to that house and the wax in that candle was of the fat of the child that was sacrificed from that household!

-Mentioned in the book of Baruch-

The sixth chapter of the book of Baruch discusses of the many idols and false g-ds of the heathens and how they adorn them. It even goes into great detail of the many candles that are lit for these idols:

“They light candles to them, and in great number, of which they cannot see one: but they are like beams in the house.” (Baruch 6:18)

Sounds similar to the many candles that can be found adorning the idols in the Roman Catholic Church.

This modern adaptation of a feast, Hanukkah (and Purim) that became established at the command of man has, through the traditions of man, become festivals that do not reflect the work of Messiah, nor acknowledge that He is the perfect sacrifice and the true Light of the world!

Many Messianic believers today try to justify their keeping of Ḥanukkah by trying to say that YAHUSHA Messiah celebrated this feast, through a skewed interpretation of a verse in:

Yoḥanan/John 10:22-23 “At that time the Ḥanukkah came to be in Yerushalayim, and it was winter. And YAHUSHA was walking in the Set-apart Place, in the porch of Shelomoh.”

On the basis of these verses alone, many assume that YAHUSHA Messiah was keeping a man-commanded feast, and they claim this because He was in the Temple at the time! Messiah declared Himself as the renewed temple:

Yoḥanan/John 2:19-22 “YAHUSHA answered and said to them, “Destroy this Dwelling Place, and in three days I shall raise it.” Then the Yahuḏiym said, “It took forty-six years to build this Dwelling Place, and You are going to raise it in three days?”

So, why would He celebrate the Feast of Dedication? He is the True Temple and condemned the old temple for destruction. So why would we honour the wrong temple? For that matter, why celebrate a temple that no longer exists and that Messiah condemned to destruction and replacement?

Should Ḥanukkah, a man-made holiday whose basis is given from one excerp within the Talmud and a fleeting, uncertain reference within scripture, be equivalent to an Appointed Time of YAHUAH? Should Ḥanukkah hold any position in worship? Which are beneficial, YAHUAH’s Word and His commands, or man’s traditions that are taught as teachings? Does Ḥanukkah depict YAHUAH’s Salvation Plan, or teach believers about YAHUSHA through the historical evidence we have? Are we to follow men in partaking of inherited rabbinical leaven?

While many may be emotionally offended at the presentation of this article, I simply want to highlight a sobering reality that we have inherited many vain traditions that have been established as being more relevant than the Word of ELOHIYM, and it is time for the true worshippers of ELOHIYM to worship in Spirit and Truth.

As you read through Yoḥanan/John 10 and see the words that YAHUSHA Messiah spoke to the Pharisees and hypocrites at the temple, one does not have to look to far and see that He was not celebrating this feast with songs and praise, but rather He was clearly rebuking the religious hypocrites, who sought to stone Him for ‘making Himself ELOHIYM’!

While we certainly can see how the Maccabees had a great victory against the Greeks in a partial fulfilment of Dani’ěl’s prophecies, we also can bring to remembrance many great victories over the enemy that we see recorded in Scripture, and we are able to give thanks to ELOHIYM who fights for us and gives us great examples for us to remind us of this fact, yet we must not add to or take away from His Word. 

Sadly this feast of lights has grown in depravity over the centuries and today it has become nothing more than a substitute for Christmas, and the customary celebrations of this feast are based on the traditions of man as taught through the Talmud, written and taught by those who deny YAHUSHA Messiah!

WHAT WE KNOW OF THE GREAT DAY COMING The Great Day of YAHUAH – “That Day”

The Hebrew word for “land” and “earth” is the same. It is left with the reader/translator to determine which it should be according to the context. 

Most, if not all, prophecies are “multi-layered” – referring to the time they were given and having a wider fulfillment at a future time. Thus many prophecies concerning the “Land” – Yisra’el – as well as “Yerushalayim” – have a wider application which includes the whole “earth” in the latter days – the “end time wrath”. This demonstrates the beauty and power of prophecy that comes from the RUACH HA’QODESH – The Eternal One. 

Therefore, as you read some of following prophecies which speak about the land and the earth – keep this in mind.

It has been said, “that all prophecies begin in Bereshiyth [Genesis] and end in Revelation”, and the more one studies the prophecies, the more the truth of this statement is borne out! 

From the flood, the destruction of Sedom and Amorah, to the “everyday” events in the lives of the patriarchs and prophets there are many “types” of end time events portrayed. [see the page on Revelation and 1 Kings] …. types that clearly point out the final events on this earth during “The Great Day of YAHUAH”! 

Many of these texts are referred to in MATTITHYAHU [Matt.] 24, Luke 21, and Mark 13 and all through Revelation. 

YAHUSHA said that “As the days of Noah were, so shall be the coming of the Son of Adam.” Now if we “rightly handle the Word of Truth”, then we can stop right there – and go to the “days of Noah” and see what the “types” reveal to us. 

Note: There is only One “Day of YAHUAH” also referred to as – The Indignation of YAHUAH, Day of Retribution, Day of Wrath, Terror of YAHUAH, The Day of His Fierce Anger, The Determined End of YAHUAH; but we have been promised that we will be saved from the Wrath of YAHUAH through our belief in YAHUSHA – the Lamb of ELOHIYM. 

His blood will be on our “door post” – and though a thousand fall at our side and ten thousands at our right hand we shall not be afraid of the terror by night, nor of the arrow that flies by day; nor of the pestilence that walks in darkness, nor of the destruction that wastes at noonday. 

For He will deliver us from the snare of the fowler, and from the deadly pestilence. He will cover us with His feathers. Under His wings we will take refuge. His faithfulness is our shield and rampart! 

Should we be His during these days of Wrath – these promises we can depend on – for He always keeps His promises!

The Length of the Day of YAHUAH:

The Texts:

YESHA’YAU 34:8 “For YAHUAH has a Day of Vengeance, a Year of Recompense for the cause of Tsiyon ….”

YESHA’YAHU 63:4 ” For the Day of Vengeance was in My heart, and the Year of My Redeemed is come …”

YESHA’YAHU 61:2 ” … to proclaim the Year of YAHUAH’s Favor, and the Day of Vengeance of our ELOHIYM …

YashaYahuw 32:10 “For days beyond a year you shall be troubled, you careless women; for the vintage shall fail. The harvest won’t come ….”

The Type:

BERE’SHIYM [Genesis] 7:11-12 “In the six hundredth year of Noah’s life, in the second month, on the seventeenth day of the month, on the same day all the fountains of the great deep were burst open, and the sky’s windows were opened. The rain was on the earth forty days and forty nights. 

[first mention of forty days and nights in the Scriptures – it is always a time of trial and transition] 

Then, in the six hundredth and first year of Noah’s life In the second month, on the twenty-seventh day of the month, the earth was dry. – Thus from the time the flood of destruction began and Noah and his family entered into the “ark of safety”, until they emerged on dry ground – 370 days passed. … or one year and ten days, at that time—the same length of time as the interval between one Feast of Trumpets until Yom Kippur the following year. – a 360 day year. Other parts of this 370 day “flood” of destruction are pictured in Rev. 9:4-10 and alluded to in Rev. 12:15.

The Great Day of YAHUAH in DANIY’EL

Dani’el is replete with allusions to the Great Day of YAHUAH – some are very explicit in their wording, i.e., 8:19 … “And he said: ‘Behold, I will make you know what shall be in the latter time of the indignation (end time of the rage – Great Day of YAHUAH); for this is what will happen in the appointed time of the end.” (for at Mo’ed – the end! / for at the Appointed Time – the end!) = one of the feast days. 

And in Chapter 9:26-27 we see more “flood” terminology: “… and the people of a coming prince that shall come shall destroy the city and the Set-apart place; and the end of it is with a flood [like the deluge]; and wastes are decreed, and fighting until the end. And he shall confirm the covenant with the many one week; and in the middle of the week he shall cause the sacrifice and the offering to cease; and for the (because of the) overspreading of abominations he shall make it desolate; even until the consummation, and that which is decreed/determined is poured out on the one who lays waste.’ [the abomination of desolation] 

One Scriptural version boldly says: “And after the sixty-two sevens, the Anointed One will be covenanted, and there will be nothing for Him, and the city and the Pure place will be destroyed by the people of the coming dictator, and his end is like the deluge, but not until the end of the war being decreed against the desolated” Pure Scriptures

In the texts concerning the self-willed king of DANIY’EL Chapter 11 – verse 36 says: and he shall prosper until the wrath [plagues] has been accomplished [Day of YAHUAH]; for what has been decreed shall be done (chp. 9:27)

One needs to keep in mind that YAHUAH works within the Feast Days – and all the fall feasts are yet to be fulfilled! And the “1260 days, the time, times and a half a time, the 42 months, 1290, and 1335 days” will most likely be tied to these feast days – as well as the “ten days” of Revelation 2:10.

And as terrifying as it will be, yet we are told to “long for and desire its appearance”!

KEPHA SHENIY [2 Peter] 3:7-13 But the heavens that now are, and the earth, by the same word have been stored up for fire, being reserved against the Day of Judgment and destruction of wicked men. … But the Day of YAHUAH will come as a thief in the night; in which the heavens will pass away with a great noise, and the elements will be dissolved with fervent heat, and the earth and the works that are in it will be burned up. 

Therefore since all these things will be destroyed like this, what kind of people ought you to be in Set-apart living and piousness, looking for and earnestly desiring the coming of the Day of YAHUAH, which will cause the burning heavens to be dissolved, and the elements will melt with fervent heat? But, according to His promise, we look for new heavens and a new earth, in which righteousness dwells.

Another type: 

BERE’SHIYM [Genesis] 7:24 “The waters prevailed on the earth one hundred fifty days.” — 5th Trumpet – Rev. 9:4-10 “They have tails like those of scorpions, and stings, and in the tails of them they have power to torture men for five months [150 days]. [Rev. 9:1-12] — except those who have YAHUAH’s seal in their forehead! … could this be the “flood” cast out of the serpents mouth to carry away the “woman” of Rev. 12 ??

YESHA’YAHU [Isaiah] 32:10 For a few days beyond a year you shall be troubled, (for a little more than a year) you complacent women; for the vintage shall fail. The harvest won’t come.

YECHIEZQ’EL [Ezekiel] 30:1-3 The Word of YAHUAH came again to me, saying, Son of Adam, prophesy, and say, Thus says the Sovereign YAHUAH: Wail, Alas for The Day! For the Day is near, even The Day of YAHUAH is near; it shall be a Day of clouds, a time of the heathen [Luke 21:24]. 

YESHA’YAHU [Isaiah] 34:8-11 For YAHUAH has a Day of Vengeance, a Year of Recompense for the cause of Tsiyon. Its (Edom’s *) streams shall be turned into tar, its dust into brimstone, And its land shall become burning asphalt. It won’t be quenched night nor day. Its smoke shall ascend a long time. From generation to generation, it shall lie waste. No one shall pass through it forever and ever. But the pelican and the porcupine shall possess it. The owl and the raven shall dwell in it. Then He shall stretch the measuring line of chaos over it, and the plumb line of emptiness [waste]. 

[Chaos: Heb., tohu. Emptiness: or “waste”; Heb., bohu. These two terms were used of what the earth became (BERE’SHIYM [Genesis] 1:2) after a cataclysmic judgment and just before being reconstituted for the use of humanity] [ *Edom is a code word for the enemies of Yisra’el and by extension also of YAHUAH!]

Amos 5:18-20 “Woe to you who desire the Day of YAHUAH! Why do you long for the Day of YAHUAH? It is darkness, and not light. As if a man fled from a lion, and a bear met him; Or he went into the house and leaned his hand on the wall, and a snake bit him. Won’t the Day of YAHUAH be darkness, and not light? Even very dark, and no brightness in it?

AMOC (Amos) 8:9-10 It will happen in That Day,” says YAHUAH Al, “that I will cause the sun to go down at noon, and I will darken the earth in the clear day. I will turn your feasts into mourning, and all your songs into lamentation; and I will make you wear sackcloth on all your bodies, and baldness on every head. I will make it like the mourning for an only son, and its end like a bitter day. 

(Also happened when YAHUSHA was on the tree) see ZAKARYAHU (Zech.) 12:9-10

MIYKAH (Micah) 1:2-4 Hear, you peoples, all of you. Listen, O earth, and all that is therein: and let the Master YAHUAH be witness against you, the Master from His Set-apart Hekal [Temple]. For, behold, YAHUAH comes forth out of His place, and will come down and tread on the high places of the earth. The mountains melt under Him, and the valleys split apart, like wax before the fire, like waters that are poured down a steep place.

YO’EL [Joel] 1:15-20 Alas for the Day! For the Day of YAHUAH is at hand, and it will come as destruction from the Almighty. 

Isn’t the food cut off before our eyes; joy and gladness from the House of our ELOHIYM? The seeds rot under their clods. The granaries are laid desolate. The barns are broken down, for the grain has withered. 

How the animals groan! The herds of livestock are perplexed, because they have no pasture. Yes, the flocks of sheep are made desolate. 

YAHUAH, I cry to You, For the fire has devoured the pastures of the wilderness, and the flame has burned all the trees of the field. Yes, the animals of the field pant to You, for the water brooks have dried up, And the fire has devoured the pastures of the wilderness. (Rev. 8 – the Trumpets)

YO’EL [Joel] 2:1-11 Blow the shofar in Tsiyon, and sound an alarm in My Set-apart Mountain! Let all the inhabitants of the land tremble, for the Day of YAHUAH comes, for it is close at hand: A Day of darkness and gloominess, a Day of clouds and thick darkness. 

As the dawn spreading on the mountains, a great and strong people; there has never been the like, neither will there be any more after them, even to the years of many generations. A fire devours before them, and behind them, a flame burns. The land is as the garden of Eden before them, and behind them, a desolate wilderness. Yes, and no one has escaped them. 

The appearance of them is as the appearance of horses, and as horsemen, so do they run. Like the noise of chariots on the tops of the mountains do they leap, like the noise of a flame of fire that devours the stubble, as a strong people set in battle array. [Rev. 9 – 5th Trump/First Woe] At their presence the peoples are in anguish. All faces have grown pale. They run like mighty men. 

They climb the wall like warriors. They each march in his line, and they don’t swerve off course. Neither does one jostle another; they march everyone in his path, and they burst through the defenses, and don’t break ranks. They rush on the city. They run on the wall. They climb up into the houses. They enter in at the windows like thieves. 

The earth quakes before them. The heavens tremble. The sun and the moon are darkened, and the stars withdraw their shining. [6th seal] YAHUAH thunders His voice before His army; for His forces are very great; for he is strong who obeys His command; for the Day of YAHUAH is great and very awesome, and who can endure it?

YO’EL (Joel) 2:30-32 I will show wonders in the heavens and in the earth: blood, fire, and pillars of smoke. The sun will be turned into darkness (total solar eclipse) , and the moon into blood (Blood Moon Tetrads of 2014 & 2015), before the great and terrible Day of YAHUAH comes. [6th Seal] 

It will happen that whoever shall call on the Name of YAHUAH shall be delivered (saved); for in Mount Tsiyon and in Yerushalayim there shall be those who escape [are delivered], as YAHUAH has said, and in the remnant, those whom YAHUAH shall call. 

(The Great Promise to be Remembered!) …. 3:9-16 Proclaim this among the nations: “Prepare for war! Stir up the mighty men. Let all the warriors draw near. Let them come up. Beat your plowshares into swords, and your pruning hooks into spears. Let the weak say, ‘I am strong.’ Hurry and come, all you surrounding nations, and gather yourselves together.” Cause your mighty ones to come down there, YAHUAH.

“Let the nations arouse themselves, and come up to the valley of Yahushaphat; for there will I sit to judge all the surrounding nations. Put in the sickle; for the harvest is ripe. Come, tread, for the wine press is full, the vats overflow, for their wickedness is great.” Multitudes, multitudes in the valley of decision! For the Day of YAHUAH is near, in the valley of decision. 

The sun and the moon are darkened, and the stars withdraw their shining. YAHUAH will roar from Tsiyon, and thunder from Yerushalayim; and the heavens and the earth will shake; but YAHUAH will be a refuge to His people, and a stronghold to the children of Yisra’el. [Alluded to in Revelation 14:14-20]

DVARIYM [Deut.] 4:29-31 But from there (wherever we are) you shall seek YAHUAH your EL, and you shall find Him, when you search after Him with all your heart and with all your being. 

When you are in oppression, and all these things are come on you, in the latter days you shall return to YAHUAH your Al, and listen to His voice: for YAHUAH your EL is a merciful EL; He will not fail you, neither destroy you, nor forget the covenant of your fathers which He swore to them.

YESHA’YAHU [Isaiah] 2:10-21 Enter into the rock, and hide in the dust, from before the terror of YAHUAH, and from the esteem of His majesty. 

The lofty looks of man will be brought low, the haughtiness of men will be bowed down, and YAHUAH alone will be exalted in That Day. For there will be a Day of YAHUAH of Hosts for all that is proud and haughty, and for all that is lifted up; and it shall be brought low: for all the cedars of Lebanon, that are high and lifted up, for all the oaks of Bashan (both these trees refer to great rulers), for all the high mountains (great nations), for all the hills (small nations) that are lifted up, for every lofty tower, for every fortified wall (belief systems), for all the ships of Tarshish (merchantry), and for all pleasant imagery (mans great achievements). 

The loftiness of man shall be bowed down, and the haughtiness of men shall be brought low; and YAHUAH alone shall be exalted in That Day. The idols shall utterly pass away.

Men shall go into the caves of the rocks, and into the holes of the earth, from before the terror of YAHUAH, and from the esteem of His majesty, when He arises to shake the earth mightily. 

In That Day, men shall cast away their idols of silver, and their idols of gold, which have been made for themselves to worship, to the moles and to the bats; to go into the caverns of the rocks, and into the clefts of the ragged rocks, from before the terror of YAHUAH, and from the esteem of His majesty, when He arises to shake the earth mightily. (6th Seal)

YESHA’YAHU [Isaiah]10:12-14 Therefore it will happen that, when YAHUAH has performed His whole work on Mount Tsiyon and on Yerushalayim, I will punish the fruit of the willful proud heart of the king of Ashsur and the insolence of his haughty looks. For he has said, “By the strength of my hand I have done it, and by my wisdom; for I have understanding: and I have removed the boundaries of the peoples, and have robbed their treasures. 

Like a valiant man I have brought down their rulers. My hand has found the riches of the peoples like a nest, and like one gathers eggs that are abandoned, have I gathered all the earth. There was no one who moved their wing, or that opened their mouth, or chirped.”

YESHA’YAHU [Isaiah] 10:20-23 It will come to pass in That Day that the remnant of Yisrar’el, and those who have escaped from the House of Ya’aqob will no more again lean on him who struck them, but shall lean on YAHUAH, the QODESH-One of Yisra’el, in truth. A remnant will return, even the remnant of Ya’aqob, to the Mighty EL GIBBOR. 

For though your people, Yisra’el, are like the sand of the sea, only a remnant of them shall be saved. A destruction is determined, overflowing with righteousness. For the Master, YAHUAH of Hosts, will make a full end, and that determined, in the midst of all the earth. [Dani’el 9:26-27]

Judgment of “the whore and her daughters”:

YECHIEZQ’EL (Ezekiel) 32:2-12 Son of Adam, take up a lamentation over Par’oh (Beast Power) king of Mitsrayim (world), and tell him, You were likened to a young lion of the nations: yet you are as a crocodile in the seas; and you did break forth with your rivers, and troubled the waters with your feet, and fouled their rivers. 

Thus says the Master YAHUAH: I will spread out My net on you (Beast power) with a company of many peoples; and they shall bring you up in My net. I will leave you on the land, I will cast you forth on the open field, and will cause all the birds of the sky to settle on you, and I will satisfy the animals of the whole earth with you. [This is the background for the feast of Leviathan as described in Rev. 19:17-21.]

I will lay your flesh on the mountains, and fill the valleys with your height. I will also water with your blood the land in which you swim, even to the mountains; and the watercourses shall be full of you. When I shall extinguish you [Beast power], I will cover the heavens, and make its stars dark; I will cover the sun with a cloud, and the moon shall not give its light. [According to YAHUAH 2:10; 3:15; YAHUSHA 13:10; 24:23; Mat. 24:29, and Rev. 8:12, the time frame for this scenario is the “latter days” the Great Day of YAHUAH”.]

All the bright lights of the sky will I make dark over you, and set darkness over your land, [Rev 16:10 5th plague – The fifth poured out his bowl on the throne of the Beast, and his reign was darkened. They gnawed their tongues because of the pain, 16:11 and they blasphemed the ELOHIYM of heaven because of their pains and their sores [first plague]. They didn’t repent of their works.] says the Master YAHUAH. 

I will also trouble the hearts of many peoples [Tribulation] , when I shall bring your destruction among the nations, into the countries which you have not known. 

Yes, I will make many peoples amazed at you, and their kings shall be horribly afraid for you, when I shall brandish My sword before them; and they shall tremble at every moment, every man for his own life, in the day of your fall. 

For thus says the Master YAHUAH: The sword of the king of Babel shall come on you. [the Beast turns on the harlot!] By the swords of the mighty will I cause your multitude to fall; the terrible of the nations are they all: and they shall bring to nothing the pride of Mitsrayim (churchanity), and all its multitude shall be destroyed.

YESHA’YAHU [Isaiah] 13:4-13 YAHUAH of Hosts is mustering the army for the battle. They come from a far country, from the uttermost part of heaven, even YAHUAH, and the weapons of His indignation, to destroy the whole land. Wail; for The Day of YAHUAH is at hand! 

It will come as destruction from the Almighty. Therefore all hands will be feeble, and everyone’s heart will melt. They will be dismayed. Pangs and sorrows will seize them. They will be in pain like a woman in labor. They will look in amazement one at another. Their faces will be faces of flame. 

Behold, The Day of YAHUAH comes, cruel, with wrath and fierce anger; to make the land a desolation, and to destroy its sinners out of it. For the stars of the sky and its constellations will not give their light. The sun will be darkened in its going forth, and the moon will not cause its light to shine. (6th Seal – Rev. 6:12-17) 

I will punish the world for their evil, and the wicked for their iniquity. I will cause the arrogance of the proud to cease, and will humble the haughtiness of the terrible. I will make people more rare than fine gold, even a person than the pure gold of Ophir. Therefore I will make the heavens tremble, and the earth will be shaken out of its place in the wrath of YAHUAH of Hosts, and in The Day of His fierce anger.

YESHA’YAHU [Isaiah] 14:24-27 The Sovereign, YAHUAH of Hosts, has sworn, saying, “Surely, as I have thought, so shall it happen; and as I have purposed, so shall it stand: that I will break the Assyrian in My land, and tread him under foot on My mountains. 

Then his yoke will leave them, and his burden leave their shoulders. This is the plan that is determined for the whole earth. This is the Hand that is stretched out over all the nations. For YAHUAH of Hosts has planned, and who can stop it? His Hand is stretched out, and who can turn it back?”

YESHA’YAHU [Isaiah] 19:1-4 The message concerning Mitsraiym: “Behold, YAHUAH rides on a swift cloud, and comes to Mitsraiym. The idols of Mitsraiym will tremble at his presence; and the heart of Mitsraiym will melt in its midst. I will stir up the Mitsriy against the Mitsriy, and they will fight everyone against his brother, and everyone against his neighbor; city against city, and kingdom against kingdom. The spirit of Mitsraiym will fail in its midst. 

I will destroy its counsel. They will seek the idols, the charmers, those who have familiar spirits, and the wizards. I will give over the Mitsriy into the hand of a cruel lord. A fierce king will rule over them,” says the Master, YAHUAH of Hosts.

YESHA’YAHU [Isaiah] 24:1-6 Behold, YAHUAH makes the land empty, makes it waste, turns it upside down, and scatters its inhabitants. It will be as with the people, so with the priest; as with the servant, so with his master; as with the maid, so with her mistress; as with the buyer, so with the seller; as with the creditor, so with the debtor; as with the taker of interest, so with the giver of interest. 

The land will be utterly emptied and utterly laid waste; for YAHUAH has spoken this word. The earth mourns and fades away. The world languishes and fades away. The lofty people of the earth languish. The earth also is polluted under its inhabitants, because they have transgressed the Torot, changed the law, and broken the everlasting Covenant. Therefore the curse has devoured the earth, and those who dwell therein are found guilty. Therefore the inhabitants of the earth are burned, and few men left. 

YESHA’YAHU [Isaiah] 24:18-23 It will happen that he who flees from the noise of the fear will fall into the pit; and he who comes up out of the midst of the pit will be taken in the snare; for the windows on high are opened, and the foundations of the earth tremble. The earth is utterly broken. The earth is torn apart. The earth is shaken violently. The earth will stagger like a drunken man, and will sway back and forth like a hammock. Its disobedience will be heavy on it, and it will fall and not rise again. 

It shall happen in That Day that YAHUAH will punish the army of the high ones on high, and the kings of the earth on the earth. They shall be gathered together, as prisoners are gathered in the pit, and shall be shut up in the prison; and after many days shall they be visited. 

Then the moon shall be confounded, and the sun ashamed; for YAHUAH of Hosts will reign on Mount Tsiyon, and in Yerushalayim; and before his elders will be esteemed. [Rev. 20:1-3]

YESHA’YAHU [Isaiah] 26:20-21 Come, my people, enter into your chambers, and shut your doors behind you. Hide yourself for a little moment, until the indignation is past. [Flood imagery] 

For, behold, YAHUAH comes forth out of His place to punish the inhabitants of the earth for their iniquity. The earth also will disclose her blood, and will no longer cover her slain. 27:1 In That Day, YAHUAH with His hard and great and strong sword will punish leviathan, the fleeing serpent, and leviathan the twisted serpent; and He will kill the dragon that is in the sea.

YESHA’YAHU [Isaiah] 28:21-22 For YAHUAH will rise up as on Mount Perazim. He will be angry as in the valley of Gib’on; that He may do His work, His unusual work, and bring to pass His act, His extraordinary act. Now therefore don’t be scoffers, lest your bonds be made strong; for I have heard a decree of destruction from the Master, YAHUAH of Hosts, on the whole earth.

YESHA’YAHU [Isaiah] 30:27-33 Behold, the Name of YAHUAH comes from far away, burning with His anger, and in thick rising smoke. His lips are full of indignation, and His tongue is as a devouring fire. His breath is as an overflowing stream that reaches even to the neck, to sift the nations with the sieve of destruction; and a bridle that leads to ruin will be in the jaws of the peoples. You will have a song, as in the night when a QODESH feast is kept; and gladness of heart, as when one goes with a flute to come to YAHUAH’s Mountain, to Yisra’el’s Rock. 

YAHUAH will cause His QODESH Voice to be heard, and will show the descent of His Arm, with the indignation of His anger, and the flame of a devouring fire, with a blast, storm, and hailstones. (the plagues of Rev.) For through the Voice of YAHUAH the Assyrian will be dismayed. He will strike him with His rod. Every stroke of the rod of punishment, which YAHUAH will lay on him, will be with the sound of tambourines and harps. 

He will fight with them in battles, brandishing weapons. For his burning place has long been ready. Yes, for the king it is made ready. He has made its pyre deep and large with fire and much wood. YAHUAH’s Breath, like a stream of sulfur, kindles it. 2nd Thess. 2: 8 Then the man of lawlessness will be revealed, whom the Master YAHUSHA will consume with the Breath of His mouth and destroy by the splendor of His coming.

YESHA’YAHAU [Isaiah] 34:1-4 Come near, you nations, to hear! Listen, you peoples. Let the earth and all it contains hear; the world, and everything that comes from it. For YAHUAH is enraged against all the nations, and angry with all their army (one army by this time). He has utterly destroyed them. 

He has given them over for slaughter. Their slain will also be cast out, and the stench of their dead bodies will come up; and the mountains will melt in their blood. All of the army of the sky will be dissolved. The sky will be rolled up like a scroll, and all its armies will fade away, as a leaf fades from off a vine or a fig tree. (6th Seal)

YIRMEYAHU [Jeremiah] 25:30-33 Therefore prophesy you against them all these words, and tell them, YAHUAH shall roar from on high, and utter His Voice from His QODESH (Set-apart) habitation; He shall mightily roar against His fold; He shall give a shout, as those who tread the grapes, against all the inhabitants of the earth. 

A noise shall come even to the end of the earth; for YAHUAH has a controversy with the nations; He shall enter into judgment with all flesh: as for the wicked, He shall give them to the sword, says YAHUAH. Thus says YAHUAH of Hosts, Behold, disaster shall go forth from nation to nation, and a great storm shall be raised up from the uttermost parts (coasts) of the earth. 

The slain of YAHUAH shall be at that Day from one end of the earth even to the other end of the earth: they shall not be lamented, neither gathered, nor buried; they shall be dung on the surface of the ground. 

TSEPHANYAHU [Zephaniah] 1:2-12 YAHUAH says “I will utterly sweep away everything off of the surface of the Land. I will sweep away man and animal. I will sweep away the birds of the sky, the fish of the sea, and the heaps of rubble with the wicked. 

I will cut off man from the surface of the Land. YAHUAH says, I will stretch out My hand against Yahudah, and against all the inhabitants of Yerushalayim. I will cut off the remnant of Ba’al from this place: the name of the idolatrous and pagan priests, those who worship the army of the sky on the housetops, those who worship and swear by YAHUAH and also swear by Malkam, those who have turned back from following YAHUAH, and those who haven’t sought YAHUAH nor inquired after Him. 

Be silent at the presence of the Sovereign YAHUAH, for the Day of YAHUAH is at hand. [Amos 5:18-20; Mal. 3:2-3] For YAHUAH has prepared a sacrifice. He has consecrated His guests. It will happen in the Day of YAHUAH’s sacrifice, that I will punish the princes, the king’s sons, and all those who are clothed with foreign clothing [Matt. 22]. 

In That Day, I will punish all those who leap over the threshold [“who walk by the laws of the Filistines”], who fill their master’s house with violence and deceit. 

In That Day, says YAHUAH, there will be the noise of a cry from the fish gate, a wailing from the second quarter, and a great crashing from the hills. Wail, you inhabitants of Maktesh, for all the people of Kena’an are undone! All those who were loaded with silver are cut off. It will happen at That Time, that I will search Yerushalayim with lamps, and I will punish the men who are settled on their dregs, who say in their heart, “ YAHUAH will not do good, neither will He do evil.” 

Aramaic, … who lie at ease upon their wealth. Having not found YAHUAH when they sought Him half-heartedly, they went lazily back to what they were doing, thinking there was no reason to repent.]

TSEPHANYAHU [Zephaniah] 1:13-18 Their wealth will become a spoil, and their houses a desolation. Yes, they will build houses, but won’t inhabit them. They will plant vineyards, but won’t drink their wine. The great Day of YAHUAH is near. 

It is near, and hurries greatly, the Voice of The Day of YAHUAH. The mighty man cries there bitterly. That Day is a day of wrath, a day of distress and anguish, a day of trouble and ruin, a day of darkness and gloom, a day of clouds and blackness, a day of the shofar and battle-alarm, against the fortified cities, and against the high battlements. [Battle-alarm: Heb, t’ruah, the term for the first day of the seventh month (Lev. 23:24), so this will be when The Day being described will fall in the annual fall calendar.]

I will bring distress on men [great tribulation], that they will walk like blind men, because they have sinned against YAHUAH, and their blood will be poured out like dust, and their flesh like dung. 

Neither their silver nor their gold will be able to deliver them in The Day of YAHUAH’s wrath, but the whole earth will be devoured by the fire of His jealousy; for He will accomplish a complete – not to mention speedy – destruction for all who inhabit the earth.

TSEPHANYAHU 3:8-9 “Therefore wait for Me,” says YAHUAH, “until The Day that I rise up to the prey, for My determination is to gather the nations, that I may assemble the kingdoms, to pour on them My indignation, even all My fierce anger, for all the earth will be devoured with the fire of My jealousy. 

[This verse includes all the letters of the Ibiy (Hebrew) alphabet, signifying that Ibriy is the language being referred to in the next verse:]

For then I will return to the people a pure language, that they may all call on the Name of YAHUAH, to serve Him with one consent. 

Daniyel 8:19 And he said: ‘Behold, I will make you know what shall be in the latter time of the indignation (end time of the rage – Great Day of YAHUAH); for it belongs to the appointed time of the end. (for at Mo’ed – the end! / for at the Appointed Time – the end! = one of the feast days. …Yom Kippur?)

YirmeYahu [Jeremiah] 25:15-29 For thus says YAHUAH, the ELOHIYM of Yisra’el, to me: take this cup of the wine of wrath at My Hand [YAHUSHA – the one who will bring YAHUAH’s wrath upon men. 

Rev. 19:11-16], and cause all the nations, to whom I send you, to drink it. They shall drink, and reel back and forth, and act like madmen, because of the sword [symbol of Islam] that I shall send among them [to divide them]. 

Then took I the cup at YAHUAH’s hand, and made all the nations to drink, to whom YAHUAH had sent me: to wit, Yerushalayim, and the cities of Yahudah, and its sovereigns, and its princes, to make them a desolation, an astonishment, a hissing, and a curse, as it is this day; Par’oh sovereign of Mitsrayim [Egypt], and his servants, and his princes, and all his people; and all the mixed people, and all the sovereigns of the land of the Uwts, and all the sovereigns of the Pelishtiym, (namely, Ashqelown, and Azzah, and Eqrown, and the remnant of Ashdowd); 

Edom, and Mo’ab, and the sons of Ammown [modern day Jordan]; and all the sovereigns of Tsor, and all the sovereigns of Tsiydon, and the sovereigns of the coastlands which is across the sea; Dedan, and Teyma, and Buwz, and all who are in the farthest corners; and all the sovereigns of Aram, and all the sovereigns of the mixed people who dwell in the wilderness; and all the sovereigns of Zimriy, and all the sovereigns of Eylam, and all the sovereigns of the Mayday; and all the sovereigns of the north, far and near, one with another; and all the kingdoms of the world, which are on the surface of the earth: and the sovereign of Sheshach [Babel] shall drink after them. 

You shall tell them, Thus says YAHUAH Master of Armies, the ELOHIYM of Yisra’el: Drink, and be drunk, vomit [be confused], fall, and rise no more, because of the sword which I shall send among you. It shall be, if they refuse to take the cup at your hand to drink, then you shall tell them, Thus says YAHUAH Master of Armies: You shall surely drink. For, behold, I begin to work evil at the city which is called by My Name; and should you be utterly unpunished? You shall not be unpunished; for I shall call for a sword on all the inhabitants of the earth, says YAUAH Master of Armies. [2nd seal] 

ZAKARYAHU [Zechariah] 14:1-14 Behold, a Day of YAHUAH comes, when your spoil will be divided in your midst. For I will gather all nations against Yerushalayim to battle; and the city will be taken, the houses rifled, and the women ravished. Half of the city will go out into captivity, and the rest of the people will not be cut off from the city. 

Then YAHUAH will go out and fight against those nations, as when He fought in the day of battle. 

His feet will stand in that day on the Mount of Olives, which is before Yerushalayim on the east; and the Mount of Olives will be split in two, from east to west, making a very great valley. Half of the mountain will move toward the north, and half of it toward the south. You shall flee by the valley of My mountains; for the valley of the mountains shall reach to Azel; yes, you shall flee, just like you fled from before the earthquake in the days of UzziYahu sovereign of Yahudah. 

YAHUAH my EL will come, and all the QODESHIYM (Set-apart ones) with You. It will happen in that Day, that there will not be light, cold, or frost. It will be a unique Day which is known to YAHUAH; not day, and not night; but it will come to pass, that at evening time there will be light. 

1 It will happen in that Day, that living waters will go out from Yerushalayim; half of them toward the eastern sea, and half of them toward the western sea; in summer and in winter will it be. YAHUAH will be Sovereign over all the earth. 

In that Day there will be one YAHUAH, and His Name One. All the land will be made like the Arabah, from Geba to Rimmon south of Yerushalayim; and she will be lifted up, and will dwell in her place, from Binyamin’s gate to the place of the first gate, to the corner gate, and from the tower of Hananel to the sovereign’s wine presses. 

Men will dwell therein, and there will be no more curse; but Yerushalayim will dwell safely. This will be the plague with which YAHUAH will strike all the peoples who have warred against Yerushalayim: their flesh will consume away while they stand on their feet, and their eyes will consume away in their sockets, and their tongue will consume away in their mouth. 

It will happen in that Day, that a great panic from YAHUAH will be among them; and they will lay hold everyone on the hand of his neighbor, and his hand will rise up against the hand of his neighbor. Yahudah also will fight at Yerushalayim; and the wealth of all the surrounding nations will be gathered together: gold, and silver, and clothing, in great abundance.

MAL’AKY (Malachi) 4:1-3 “For, behold, The Day comes, it burns as a furnace; and all the proud, and all who work wickedness, will be stubble; and The Day that comes will burn them up,” says YAHUAH of Hosts, “that it shall leave them neither root nor branch. 

But to you who fear My Name shall the sun of righteousness arise with healing in her wings. You will go out, and leap like calves of the stall. You shall tread down the wicked; for they will be ashes under the soles of your feet in The Day that I am preparing,” says YAHUAH of Hosts.

KEPHA SHEMIY (2 Peter) 3:10 “But the Day of YAHUAH will come as a thief in the night; in which the heavens will pass away with a great noise, and the elements will be dissolved with fervent heat, and the earth and the works that are in it will be burned up. 

3:11 Therefore since all these things will be destroyed like this, what kind of people ought you to be in Set-apart conduct and the fear of ELOHIYM, 

3:12 looking for and earnestly desiring the coming of the Day of YAHUAH, which will cause the burning heavens to be dissolved, and the elements will melt with fervent heat? 

3:13 But, according to His promise, we look for new heavens and a new earth, in which righteousness dwells.”

KEPHA RI’SHON (1 Peter) 1:3-5 Blessed be YAHUAH and Father of our Master YAHUSHA HAMASHIACH, Who according to His great mercy, has begotten us afresh into a living hope through the resurrection of YAHUSHA HAMASHIACH from being dead, into an inherited possession that is not liable to decay [Matt. 6:19], unsoiled, and unfading, having been kept under guard for you in heavenly realms who are protected by the Power of YAHUAH through belief for a deliverance ready to be revealed in the final decisive epoch.

I AM YAHUAH! This is my Name from Time Everlasting

The Eternal Father is calling His people to the ostentatious importance of restoring His set-apart name “YAHUAH יהוה.” This also applies to the name of His Son “YAHUSHA יהושׁה” our Messiah, wherever either are referred to in Scripture as the “Lord God and Jesus Christ.”  Only then will the nations of earth know that He is the supreme Alahim/ELOHIYM (sovereign).

The Jews, Romans, and Greeks, over the last 2,000 years have managed to change the true set-apart name of the Eternal Father over 7,000 times.  Additionally, His Son, our Messiah’s name has been changed 981 times.  As a result, this has caused all to worship a counterfeit deity, and a watered down knowledge of this Supremely Divine duo.  How was this accomplished? This has been done by way of a calculated attack on the translations of Scripture as we know them.

These LIES were borne on the wings of tradition. They have served well to hide YAHUAH’S magnificent set-apart name and how it relates prophetically to His promised one true Son, our Messiah.  For the true Messiah was to come in His Father’s qadosh (sacred) NAME and teach exclusively from the Tanakh, the eternal Laws, Statutes of Time, Judgments, and the Temple services.  It is these that define YAHUSHA haMashiach, for in this regard the Eternal Father’s compassionate love was to be manifest.

In Vain They Worship Me

Every time we read in our English Scripture translation the name for our Eternal Father as “Lord,” in reality, it should say YAHUAH (#3068 יהוה). The Term “Lord” is a replacement term, and only carries the generic meaning and title of “master,” and can not make a distinct between two or more entities.  For Satan is also called “Lord” and “master.” Brilliantly, in addition a foundational testimony is also borne out by the very names of most of the patriarchs, prophets, and authors of Scripture.  These names announce “YAHUAH” as Elohim/Alahim’s true qadosh name, all the while identifying their own divine calling.

Names are always to be distinctly translated, especially Hebrew names, as they manifest contextual significance. Yet, Scriptural text is transliterated to bring concepts between languages into harmonious contextual structure. Hebrew names were designed to retain their oral vocalized sound, no matter how each language spelled them.  They are never to be transliterated to something that sounds altogether different.  Here are several examples from the Tanakh.

Joshua – Real name is YAHUsha= “YAHUAH Saves by way of the Lamb”

Isaiah – Real name is YeshaYAHU= “Salvation is YAHUAH”

Jonathan – Real name is YAHUnathan = “YAHUAH has given”

Jeremiah – Real name is YirmeYAHU= “The Resurrection/Rising is YAHUAH”

Ezekiel – Real name is YAHchezq’EL= “YAHUAH is a Righteous Eloah”

Daniel – Real name is DaniYAH’EL “The decision is YAHUAH’s our Eloah”

Hosea – Real name is HosheYAH= “The Deliver is YAHUAH”

Joel – Real name is YAH’EL= “YAHUAH is Eloah”

Obadiah – Real name is ObadYAHU= “The Servant of YAHUAH”

Zephaniah – Real name is TsphanYAHU= “The Secret is YAHUAH”

Haggai – Real name is ChaggaYAH= “The Celebration is YAHUAH”

Zechariah – Real name is ZacharYAHU= “YAHUAH Remembers”

Malachi – Real name is MalachiYAHU= “Messenger of YAHUAH”

Job – Real name is YAHshub= “YAHUAH Will Return”

Nehemiah – Real name is NechemYAH= “Consoled by YAHUAH”

Matthew – Real name is MatithYAHU= “The gift is YAHUAH”

One might ask where this problem originated and the answer may surprise you. It began in Israel! It began prior to the first century A.D. The Hebrew word “Adonai” does exist in Scripture as a sign of respect, meaning “master, sir, or my lord.” Yet, this word was never intended to replace the name of YAHUAH or His Son.  Incredibly, all the Hebrew Professors from Jerusalem proactively have for thousands of years cultivated a Jewish fable.  They teach their students that, “every time you come to the word “יהוה” (Yahuah), replace it with the word ‘Adonai.’” The English translation for “Adonai” is “the Lord,” or Babylonian god named Adonai, Adonis, and Adon.

Not giving heed to Jewish fables and commandments of men, that turn from the truth. Titus 1:14

Each professor tells their students that this practice is done to ensure that they never take YAHUAH’S name in vain. Not only is this contrary to the explicit direction of YAHUAH to call on His unique divine name, but this is another man-made teaching, that causes all to sin by worshiping foreign gods.  This long standing, though invalid tradition among the Jews, has been sold to the Romans, the English, and even to all the world.  The world’s Bible translations have all been compelled to comply with the replacement terms, feeding us a lie.  You can verify this for yourself with the help of a Hebrew dictionary/concordance.

“. . .and in vain they worship me, teaching as doctrines the commandments of men.” MatithYAHU (Matthew) 15:9

“Remember this, the adversary has defamed YAHUAH יהוה, and the foolish (wicked) people despise His NAME.  Tehillim (Psalms) 74:17

Name changing in Scripture is a crisis of the TRUTH, and a large stone in the wall of replacement theology.  It is even declared in Wikipedia that the name “Adonai” references and gives our worship to another god waiting in the wings.  It refers to one who is none other than the Babylonian god “Adonis.” Strikingly, this is also an alternate name for Tammuz the sun god, who stands as the representative of Satan.  “Adonai/Lord” is not a title for our Eternal Father and Creator as many have erroneously believed, but merely a pagan name for Satan.  Through the Latin influence it has been translated as “Lord” in all the English Scripture translations.  Folks the only one laughing is SATAN.  You must commit to researching this subject for yourself, and commit to Yahuah to walk in the truth alone.  You will find this in your Hebrew Lexicon and online, for all the world has been deceived. wikipedia dot org/wiki/Adonis.

There is historical documentation on how the Messiah’s name was proactively corrupted. And yes, this is hard to take in as well, but if you are committed to seeking the truth and obeying it, then a change of terms may be on your immediate horizon.  You must be proactive on this subject, for Yahuah is calling His obedient set-apart followers to WAKE UP!  For on that great day, yet future, only those who have done their due diligence will awake with the lamps full of oil, trimmed, and burning.

“Whoever therefore breaks one of the least of these commandments, and teaches men so, shall be called least in the kingdom of the shamayim; but whoever does and teaches them, he shall be called great in the kingdom of the shamayim.”  MatithYAHU (Matthew) 5:19

Reasons Why it Matters

It is natural at first consideration to think, why does it really matter what we call the Eternal Father, as He knows who I refer to?  Does the Eternal Father and Son really care if I continue using Jewish or Roman manufactured replacement names of “Lord God and Jesus Christ,” or Jewish replacement of “Adonai?”  Find out what Scripture declares on this subject that has been in crisis for thousands of years.  Today is your opportunity to to be amazed at the Scriptural evidence.

 1 He has asked that we call Him by Name, His true name, not by a title or the name of a fictional god or super hero of antiquity. 

“And as for Seth, to him also a son was born; and he named him Enosh. Then men began to call on the name of YAHUAH.”  Bereshit (Genesis) 4:26

“. . . And there Abram called on the name of YAHUAH.  Bereshit (Genesis) 13:4

And YAHUAH spoke unto Moses saying, “Speak to Aaron and his sons, saying, ‘This is the way the children of Yahishrael (Israel) shall say to them:  YAHUAH barak (bless) you and keep you; YAHUAH make His face shine on you, and be compassionate to you; YAHUAH lift up His countenance upon you, and give you shalom (peace).” So they shall put MY NAME on the children of Yashrael, and I will barak (bless) them.”  Bemidvar (Numbers) 6:22-27

“Then all peoples of the earth shall see that you are called by the name YAHUAH, and they shall be afraid of you.” Devarim (Deuteronomy) 28:10

“ELiYAHU (Elijah) declared: “Then you call on the name of your gods, and I will call on the name of YAHUAH and the Alahim (god) who answers by fire, He is Alahim (God).” So all the people answered and said, ‘It is well spoken.’” Melechim Aleph (1 Kings) 18:24

“Rave you in His qadosh name.  Let them rejoice that seek YAHUAH.” Davari HaYAmim – Aleph (1 Chronicles) 16:10

“Give thanks to YAHUAH! Call upon His Name.  Make known His deed among the peoples.”  Tehillim (Psalms) 105:1

“Then I called upon the Name of YAHUAH, “O YAHUAH, I pray to You, deliver my life!”  Tehillim (Psalms) 116:4

“I bring you a sacrifice of thanksgiving, and call upon the Name of YAHUAH.”  Tehillim (Psalms) 116:17

The Importance of Utilizing the Set-Apart Names

You would not be human if you did not question the importance of using the qadosh name of Yahuah and Yahusha exclusively, for you are in good company, as we have all been taught a belief system that negates some of the foundational beliefs from Scripture Torah and Tanakh (O.T.).  But the last message for the END TIME set-apart people of Yahuah is that they are called to come out of Babylon, the mixture of truth and error, chaos and corruption, and confusion of all kinds, and return to the original foundational truths of the Tanakh and Brit Hadasha (N.T.).

As you know, YAHUAH continues to lead those who seek Him, and then obey what they have learned.  All the world has walked after the BEAST of Revelation, but only the remnant few will escape the punishment meted out to those who receive its mark.  For these are the ones who obey specifically in two areas, and by extension if we obey in these we obey in all:

For herein is the shalom (peace) of the righteous, who 1) keep the Torah and have the 2) Testimony of Yahusha.  Hagilu Naton Alahim (Revelation) 14:12

The way I see it, the path of truth remains in place.  Each of us can claim one portion of the path, using squatter’s rights to stake out our doctrinal real estate.  But that is missing the point.  The purpose of the pathway is to provide progressive growth, a moving toward a greater and still greater knowledge of truth as it is in our Messiah and the Eternal Father.  For example, a man who loves His wife and children after being away at war doesn’t just decide that his honorable discharge is all the further he will move toward home.  No, he must go to the airport, board the plane, and arrive in his home town. Then he must continue to advance homeward in His enthusiastic joy of seeing them again.

This is how the true believer feels.  We want to get as close to Yahusha and the truth as possible.  Remaining on the path in a proactive and forward motion is a lifetime process.  Absolutely no one who sits down will ever arrive at a destination beyond that point.

YAHUAH does not expect a man without legs to compete in a 100 yard sprint.  But as far as a person has ability to learn truth, that person is accountable for seeking, knowing and sharing it.

My people are destroyed for lack of knowledge. Because you have rejected knowledge, I also will reject you from being Kohenim (Priests) for Me. Because you have forgotten the Torah of your Alahim, I also will forget your children.  HoshaYAH (Hosea) 4:6

YAHUAH would not require the same accountability from a mentally challenged individual as from one with full mental competence.  But for those who know to do good, but refuse, or use excuses …

Therefore to him that knows to do good, and does it not, to him it is sin. James 4:17

All of us must consider the ramifications of each decision we make.  We are being called to a higher standard today as we near His Second Coming, than the religious denominations that have come before.  Let us not be as a dog that returns to its vomit.  For YAHUAH is calling those who will be obedient out of all religious organizations.  This is no different that drawing a line in the sand and saying who is for me and who is against me.  For the decision belongs to each.  Is this unfair and judgmental?  Some will accuse of this, but YAHUAH defines things in black and white and very little grey.

Remember, the only Scriptures YAHUSHA our Messiah and His disciples read and studied from was the Torah (first five books of Mosheh) and the Tanakh (entire O.T.).  Their study was in the Hebrew Scriptures and not the Greek.  At the time of our Messiah, Hebrew was the primary language among the Jews, not Greek. Their names were Hebrew as was their very culture. Thus, to be YAHUSHA’S true followers, anciently as well as now, means that we are to read what He read, we must believe what He believed.  And in contrast to the modern Jews, we must accept YAHUSHA as our Messiah, because He alone was the fulfillment of the Tanakh prophecies.

Contrary to popular understanding, it is the reality of the Messiah that gives life to the Tanakh. The reverse is equally true as this is how we recognize the true Messiah by NAME and by the appointed qadosh TIME.  At that time the name of YAHUAH Alahim had not been overwritten with the Latin terms “Lord God.”  And it was not until the council of Nicea (c. C.E. 321-325) that the true name of the Messiah was also covered over with the name “Jesus Christ.”  Refer to article: Constantine’s Creation of Jesus Christ.

It is natural to compare new LIGHT with a standard that we have always held to.  I know because I did that for 50 years.  Shocking as it may be, our individual standard can be seriously flawed even though it may represent hundreds or even thousands of years of denominational thought. Then I had an awakening! Yahuah called me to turn over every doctrinal stone and prove each from Scripture alone.  I was to use the weight of evidence and not a single verse, or the paradigm of a so called modern day “prophet.”  Only then was I set free from many erroneous beliefs that had held me captive.  By this I mean that some false doctrines kept me from knowing the truth or being willing to look at new light.

No doubt I will continue to discover more areas that require change.  This is how we are to grow deeper in truth and a knowledge of Yahuah.  Along this pathway we speak of, everyone is at a different place based upon many factors such as study time, Scriptural foundation, personal ability, and years in the word, etc.  But the key to all of this is in remaining steadfast on the path and not simply saying, “Yahuah, I’ve come far enough.”

All the apparent chaos is found among the masses that walk the wide road of Jewish fables and commandments of men (Titus 1:14) who mix Babylonian beliefs with those of Scripture.  The modern Jews have not only replaced the set-apart name of YAHUAH, but keep a calendar based upon a complete 180 degree reversal of time reckoning.  This change from the original took place over a 400 year period between the 1st and 4th centuries A.D.  Today the modern Jewish calendar and Feast Days are off by a minimum of 2 weeks to a maximum of 1.5 months on any given year.  And the Jewish Saturday Sabbath is only a Roman calendar myth.  For more info on Yahuah’s true seventh-day Sabbath refer to article:  Announcing an Official Paradigm Shift.

Alahim/Elohim – Name or Title?

From my research I have found that Alahim/Elohim (God) is a plural term that represents one deserving of our worship. It is Scripture’s identifying title of introduction to YAHUAH and YAHUSHA.   It is applied in the same way as the title Mr., Mrs., Ms., or Dr., designate status, but defines one alone who is worthy of worship.

Case in point.  You may recall the famous exchange that took place on the shores of Lake Tanganyika, Africa, in 1871, when Henry Morton Stanley finally found the man he was seeking and declared, “Dr. Livingston I presume.”  The term “Dr.” was NOT his Name, as it is used as a title for countless other folks, rendering it generic in nature.  Rather, the name David Livingston, clarifies the specific Dr. who went to Africa as an Explorer/Missionary. Titles identify groups, but not specifics, while names identify specifics.  In contrast, Scripture identifies YAHUAH and YAHUSHA as the specific distinguished names of our Creator and His Son, who bear the introductory plural TITLE of “Alahim/Elohim (God).”

Here are a two inspirational quotes by Dr. David Livingston:

“I am prepared to go anywhere, provided it be forward.”

“If you have men who will only come if they know there is a good road, I don’t want them. I want men who will come if there is no road at all.”

There are some who have believed that if a word was ever used by the pagans then we cannot use it, as in the case of Alahim/Elohim.

From this one sentence there is evidence that pagan gods were commonly referred to as Alahim/Elohim.  For it carried a generic concept of one deserving of worship.  But when the specific Names of the specific gods are applied in addition to Alahim, it is then that we can recognize the divisions of who that Alahim (god) is referring to.  While we have been conditioned to believe that the term god is referring to our Creator, it simply was not so among all pagan nations.  When they heard the term “god/Elohim,” it meant god Baal, god Marduk, god Dagon, or god Adonai, etc.  So we find that merely using the term “god” is incorrect.   But also merely using “Elohim or Alahim in prayer or praise is not sufficient to distinguish who we worship.

You may be tempted to say, “well I think ‘God’ knows who I mean” and that is all I need.” But this response takes us back to the idea of “knowing to do good and not doing it.”  For Yahuah wants to hear mankind call Him by His true name!  Might this even be a test of servant-hood?

I Am Yahuah – This is my Name from Time Everlasting

For all those seeking obedience to the ETERNAL FATHER, He has declared through the weight of evidence in Scripture that we are to call upon His specific set-apart NAME, YAHUAH ALAHIM. Stunningly, this same set-apart name is the very framework of our Messiah’s name.  For He did not come in the name of the mere title Alahim, or a different name such as “Jesus Christ,” as has been falsely placed in our Scripture translations.  Rather, He came in the majestic NAME of His Father “YAHUAH יהוה.”  The only difference is the added “S” after the U to complete the sound of His name YAHUSHA יהושׁה.  Refer to:  Constantine’s Creation of Jesus Christ.

I [YAHUSHA] am come in my Father’s name [YAHUAH], and ye receive me not: if another shall come in his own name [JESUS CHRIST], him ye will receive. YAHUchanon (John) 5:43

The correct name mattered greatly to YAHUAH!  It mattered greatly to YAHUSHA our Messiah!  So by extension, this should matter greatly to all of the Messiah’s obedient followers.  For the “SHA” sound in “YAHUSHA” describes the intrinsic promise from Eden that YAHUAH, the Eternal Father would SAVE mankind by way of His only Son. It was He alone who would lay down His life as the PROMISED LAMB.”  The “SHA” (שׁה) means LAMB!   Salvation is only possible by way of the LAMB. And not just any LAMB, He is identified as the LAMB of YAHUAH יהוה, all within His set-apart Name “YAHUSHA יהושׁה.”

“NEITHER IS THERE SALVATION IN ANY OTHER: FOR THERE IS NO OTHER NAME UNDER THE SHAMAYIM (heaven), GIVEN AMONG MEN, WHEREBY WE CAN BE SAVED!”  P’yilut Hashaliachim (Acts) 4:12

So why is it so difficult to accept the true SET-APART NAMES of YAHUAH and YAHUSHA, who alone are deserving of worship?  It is because our frame of reference has been falsified.  We have all been conditioned to believe the replacement terminology.  FOLKS, THESE TERMS ARE NOT TRANSLATION WORD OPTIONS, BUT ARE IN FACT PAGAN “GOD” SUBSTITUTES. Next these have been, proactively and consistently printed in our English Scriptures, to wholly replace the true names of the Eternal Father and Son. Consequently, these pagan terms have no business being utilized for prayer, praise, or worship of the Eternal Father and Son. Period!

Either Alahim or Elohim are the correct term to use in combination with YAHUAH and YAHUSHA, as it designates which Alahim (God).  I might add that our compassionate Eternal Father does not hold this against anyone who simply does not know.  Rather, it is only those who are accountable, who do know, or have been given ample opportunity to both know and understand.

Why is the Father and Son’s Names So Important?

You may be thinking, “What’s the big deal as He knows my heart?”  Does the Eternal Father and Son really care if I continue using the Roman manufactured names or Jewish traditional replacements?  Now that you know what Scripture declares on this subject, take it to YAHUAH and YAHUSHA in prayer.  Today is your opportunity to turn this buried treasure into a treasure trove that changes lives.

For only those who LOVE the Eternal Father and Son will STOP desecrating their qadosh (set-apart) NAMES, and STOP BREAKING the THIRD COMMANDMENT found in Shemot (Exodus) 20:7 and Devarim (Deuteronomy) 5:11.  We take His name in vain when we: 1) claim to be His obedient followers, yet reject or dishonor His true qadosh name; 2) Pretend to be one of His, yet live a life that is out of harmony with His will.

A paradigm shift is necessary, but in name only, for our Savior, YAHUSHA the Messiah, did walk this earth. Together with His Father, YAHUAH and YAHUSHA created all things.  Four thousand years later the creative Word was made flesh and dwelt among us (YAHchanan John 1:1).  Indeed, He called the twelve and patiently instructed them in righteousness.  His arms were outstretched to heal the sick and feed the 5,000 with five loaves and two fishes. He willingly laid down His life for all mankind, as a demonstration of His eternal love for His children.  His Father’s will He followed in joy and in pain. Defeating death, Yahusha rose again in power and exaltation. His magnificent work on behalf of mankind continues today in His sanctified temple courts above. 

Soon, He will declare, “IT IS FINISHED,” ending forever His Zadek Kohenim work of forgiveness in response to the prayers of His followers, by laying down the smoking censer. He will return again the second time to complete the prophetic mechanism called the plan of salvation.  For it is worked out in real time according to His qadosh (set-apart) timeline of the seven qadosh appointed Feast Days, encompassing this past 2,000 years.

Our salvation is assured as we can discern the truth from error by His Ruach (Yahuah’s Presence).  He reveals this to us no matter your age or how long you have been entrenched in believing the lie.  It is only in finding truth that the heart that desires it above houses, land, or money, will humble themselves and seek YAHUAH’S face for forgiveness.  For there is no tradition on the face of this earth, no matter how deeply seated, that is worth losing our salvation over.  No one said it would be easy either.  For every new truth we come to accept, by the very design of cause and effect, we must give up a previously held belief, and this can be downright painful at times.  The Messiah says:

I counsel you to buy from Me gold refined in the fire, that you may be rich; and white garments, that you may be clothed, that the shame of your nakedness may not be revealed; and anoint your eyes with eye salve, that you may see.  As many as I love, I rebuke and chasten.  Therefore be zealous and repent.  Behold, I stand at the door and knock.  If anyone hears My voice and opens the door, I will come in to him and dine with him, and he with Me.  To him who overcomes I will grant to sit with Me on My seat of power, as I also overcame and sat down with My Father on His seat of power.  Hagilu Natan Alahim (Revelation) 3:18

No one who seeks an everlasting home beyond the pearly gates will be left untouched by the controversy over truth and error.  All have been naked, yet all must be clothed with YAHUSHA’S RIGHTEOUSNESS.  This is the formula from the beginning in Eden, when the first lamb (שׂה-sha) was slain and the white blood stained woolen skins were placed by the Creator upon our first parents.  For this was the SIGN of the promise of our Messiah. For it is His eternal robes of righteousness that cover His obedient followers. (Genesis 3:21).

All have sinned, but YAHUSHA our Messiah (lamb), has made provision for each person who humbly asks. The choice is yours.  We are entering into the refining time.  Each of us must release our grip on all the things of this world that are not pure gold, tried, and proven to be of eternal weight. 

YAHUAH prosper you and guard you; YAHUAH make His face shine upon you, and show favor to you; YAHUAH lift up His face upon you, and give you shalom (peace). Thus they shall put My Name on the children of YAHishraEl, And I Myself shall honor them. B’midvar (Numbers) 6:24-27

Each of us have the choice to be grafted in and receive His Name on our foreheads.  Pray that this name will be YAHUSHA יהושׁה.  For the plan of salvation is only baked into the true NAME of YAHUSHA HAMASHIACH. This qodesh name is literally declaring to the whole world that the ETERNAL YAHUAH יהוה SAVED YOU AND ME BY WAY OF YAHUSHA the LAMB (שׂה-sha).  It is through this method alone that He insures that His promises are trustworthy.

Discovering ABBA Father’s & Messiah’s Hebrew Name 

When I was a boy of 7 years old, and at the death of my precious beloved mother, I had a burning passion birthed in my heart towards YAHUAH’s Word. The men and women I grew up admiring most and wanting to emulate were those I found though out the Scriptures beginning to end. I would read those stories of old and let my imagination just run wild. I could just about visualize the exciting and wonderful adventures of YAHUAH’s Mighty men & women.

When I was 14 years old my Uncle Chuck Immersed me in His Greek/Latin Name according to Acts 2:38. Then and there started my Path Seeking after Him and doing my best at that time to Stand Set-Apart from the rest of the religious world…. Brother stood alone…. Even back in those days…. 

I did my all my Research Old School Style… We did not have Internet back then so at a very young age I was cracking the Books…. Going to different Schools, University and Public Libraries digging up a lot of the information we are sharing with you today.

My Hunger and Thirst After Him has not diminished in any way. However,  the More I Learn of Him the More I discover so much more than I can fantom… 

I’ve stood outside of the Denominational Structure and was telling folk way back then that the Roman Catholic Church was Pagan and all her Denominational Daughters were as well and been trying to help people to “Come Out Of Her” …. you know speaking or referring to His People.

Even though I spent the biggest part of my life working in different Denominations as Music Minister I would not take money for my services but gave it freely as giving and serving my Master.  

I had a preconceived idea that is was only though the “Church” one could serve YAHUAH and I had to learn that the Church Doors was not the Way, Truth or The Life and was not the means of Salvation nor Servitude.

A little over 11 years ago back in 2011 when YAHUAH was opening my Eyes & Ears to His Hebrew Name I knew in my heart that was what I’ve been searching for all these years. From my discoveries I already knew J-sus Chr!st was a Greek/Latin Pagan influenced and replacement name. I knew that J-C was not the Messiah’s Name. Nor was Fathers Name G-D – I already knew they were titles and were replaced.

When this discovery started unfolding I realized I did not Replace my First Love I simply discovered what His Proper and True Name Was, Is and Always will be.

This has been the most exciting thing I have ever discovered in my life and it Thrills me to no end and I want to Go Tell It On The Mountain The Good News of His Paleo Hebrew Name and Introduce You to His Majesty The King of Kings…YAHUSHA The Messiah!  

I had the honor and good pleasure of being Immersed in His Proper Hebrew Name on August 2014  Will be Eternally Grateful for YAHUAH making The Way and Opening my Eyes to The Truth of His Name. 

Since then I feel I have grown in Grace, knowledge and hope I have used Wisdom trying to be instrumental introducing others to His Majesty’s True & Proper Hebrew Name and make the connection in their Hearts. 

When we are starting out on this Walk of the Ancient Paths we start learning more every day especially the importance of His Real Proper Hebrew Name.

We who are Truth Seekers seek Him with a honest heart even though we have been using the Replaced Greek/Latin Name for Him most of our lives yet He still loved us and He understood clearly why. 

However, once we do discover His Proper Hebrew Name and fall in love with it I feel He would much rather be called by His Real Hebrew Name than that which was replaced by the Greeks, Romans and the English.

Wouldn’t you prefer Your Real Name over some replaced profane name when spoken to or being addressed and referenced?

When you are just starting out it takes a while getting your vocabulary to change cause we’ve been calling Him J-sus  L-RD & G-D for so long and in our hearts we did not associate these terms to Pagans. Our hearts were pure towards Him. Just our Verbiage or Vocabulary was wrong. We have to Change Our Way of Thinking. (Repent)

However, once Light has come then we have to make a decision and choice to continue calling Him by His Replaced Name that has Pagan roots and association or do we simply say Opps.. Sorry Master for calling you by the wrong Name I though it was J-sus… and simply in your everyday life swap out the bad terms to the Good Name of YAHUAH and YAHUSHA.

Plus, one of the Commandments we are not to have other elohim’s or mighty ones before Him.

L-RD or G-D is generic and it not a Proper Name at all.

Plus, all the false deities in the earth today is called G-D.. Even ALLAH is referred to as G-D.

So I feel we are at a point in history we need to Set Ourselves Apart with His Set-Apart Name from the false g-d’s and speak and use His True Proper Hebrew Name to make it very clear to the world and others that we do not serve just any mighty one or any generic no name G-D.

Our Elohim has a Name. It is YAHUAH and His Son’s Name is YAHUSHA in the Paleo Hebrew.

However, when witnessing to others many times we need to help folk make the connection that the Hebrew YAHUDIYM (Jewish) J-sus they love and serve has a Hebrew Name and simply introduce them to our Master YAHUSHA The Messiah.

You see Beloved… We didn’t or we don’t change our “First Love” we simply discover what His True and Proper Hebrew Name really and truly was and is and always will be.

It takes time for us to brake our habit of saying J-sus, L-RD & G-D and replacing those Terms with the Proper Name YAHUSHA and YAHUAH instead of G-D or L-RD  … and plus like I just mentioned many times we have to help folk make that connection that their Hebrew YAHUDIYM (Jewish) J-sus they love and that He actually has a Hebrew Name and not a Greek/Latin/English Name.
