Let us remember that these feast we do here in the Fall is our Wedding Rehearsals.
Remember, when you went to a wedding rehearsal? Were you able to get things just right the first time around? More than likely no. Usually the wedding party has to go over the wedding progression a number of times before getting things right.
So keep that in mind when we observe these Appointed Times of YAHUAH. Right now it’s just our practice time getting ready for the Marriage Feast of the Lamb!

Checklist of Ideas and Fun Traditions for Sukkot
In this little post, I want to give you some simple ideas for celebrating Sukkot (the Feast of Tabernacles) with your family at home.
Many people choose to gather with other believers for the week, camping together or staying at conference centers. Others have local congregations or synagogues with whom they can participate. A few others are able to travel to Yerushalayim (Jerusalem), where the festivities are more similar to how they will be someday when all nations go up each year for Sukkot (Zechariah 14:16-19).
However, many families choose to stay close to home. Do the Scriptures give any guidance on how we can celebrate? Look up these verses, and on a sheet of paper, make a list of ideas you get.

If possible, assemble with other believers. Maybe that will just be your own family, but year by year, you’ll likely find others to add to this number.
Do no “customary work” (NKJV) on either the 1st day or the 8th day. This is referring to your income-producing, regular work, not to preparing food or decorating for the Feast.
Offerings: We cannot offer sacrifices because the Temple was destroyed, but prayerfully consider giving gifts to those who minister in the Word, to widows, to orphans, and to the poor, especially to help them participate in a wonderful Feast with their own families. In the Torah, we are commanded to give a tenth of all our “increase” at the Feasts of Unleavened Bread, Shavuot, and Sukkot.
Take tree boughs, fruit, branches, and other plants, and use them to make your sukkah, to decorate, and to wave as you dance and rejoice before YAHUAH.
Rejoice all seven days! It is a command to rejoice during this Feast. Sometimes when our hearts are commanded to do something, we suddenly find it difficult. When my moods don’t match the command, it’s okay to pray and ask for His help!
To help you in your rejoicing, the Torah tells us to eat good food, have delicious drinks, and to purchase “whatever your heart desires.” Gifts, candies and sweets, and favorite foods make this Feast the highlight of the year! Share gifts (especially of food) with others, too.
Build a sukkah (booth, or temporary dwelling), or if you can’t, use a tent or anything you have around the yard to make a simple shelter. The command to dwell in the sukkah is only for native-born Yashar’e’liym (Israelites), but it is still wonderful to spend as much time as your local weather permits inside your sukkah.
Spend time reading and discussing the Torah. This is seen in Nehemiah 8, and traditionally, it’s emphasized on the last day of Sukkot. It is also traditional to read the last chapter of Deuteronomy and the first chapter of Genesis, and then to start reading through the Torah with your children over the course of the next year, using the Torah portions. Use the descriptions in Psalm 19 for ideas on ways to celebrate the value of the Torah (gold, honey, etc.).
If YAHUSHA was born during the Feast of Tabernacles (and many believe it’s highly likely, because John 1:14 says he “tabernacled” among us), then this is a good time of year to sing songs about His birth and to read about it in Luke 1-2 and Matthew 1-2.
The following ideas and traditions are simply that: traditions. YAHUAH’s feasts are not a burden but a delight, so keep in mind the ages of your children, your budget, your energy levels, and your location. Ask the Father to help you rejoice in this feasts without feeling overwhelmed by details and schedules.
Before Sukkot

Use local fruits and vegetables to decorate, or try to use species of plants from the land of Yashar’el (Israel).
Use branches for the roof of your Sukkah. Even if you have a tent, try to add fresh greenery.
Have lots of candles, lanterns, white lights. (Be careful of fire hazards! Have a fire extinguisher handy.)
Put a table in your sukkah, and make it beautiful. Eat as many meals here as possible.
Let your children decorate with posters, murals, Scripture verses, flowers, paper chains, etc.

Great rejoicing is the command! In my mind, this means good music, good food, and good friends.

Make a playlist of your favorite songs. If you’ll have guests, ask what their favorite songs are, too.

The Middle Days
Weather permitting, spend as much time as possible in your sukkah. Remind your children what it must have been like for the Yashar’e’liym (Israelites) to live in tents in the wilderness for forty years.
Sneak out early in the morning for a beautiful sunrise and a simple breakfast together.
Look at the stars! Read Psalm 8 together.
Put table games and musical instruments in your Sukkah.
Plan simple crafts for rainy days.
Munch on apples and caramel sauce or honey.
Sleep outside if possible, maybe one night, but more if you can.

Give the children a bag of candy to take home. You could even have a “progressive dinner” with your friends, going from one sukkah to the next, eating one course of the meal at a time.
Day 8 (Shmini Atzeret) and Simchat Torah
This is the Great Day, the Last Day of the Feast. Make your rejoicing doubly festive!

Sukkot (Feast of Tabernacles or Booths)
This is the last commanded Feast of the year. It is a pilgrimage feast of which there are three – the Feast of Unleavened Bread, Shavuot and Sukkot. It occurs on the 15th day of the 7th month. It is also called Feast of Tabernacles or Booths. It was also known as the Feast of the Ingathering. It was during this time that YAHUSHA was born and tabernacled among us (John 1:14). This is a joyous celebration as the fall harvest is now over and it is time to enjoy the fruits of ones labors. It is a season of joy following the heaviness of Yom Kippur now realizing that our sins have been forgiven. It is a picture of the YAHUAH’S Kingdom during the millennium.
Lev 23:34 Speak unto the children of Yisrael (Israel), saying, The fifteenth day of this seventh month shall be the feast of tabernacles for seven days unto YAHUAH.
Lev 23:35 On the first day shall be an holy convocation: ye shall do no servile work therein.
Lev 23:36 Seven days ye shall offer an offering made by fire unto YAHUAH: on the eighth day shall be an holy convocation unto you; and ye shall offer an offering made by fire unto YAHUAH: it is a solemn assembly; and ye shall do no servile work therein.
During this 7 day festival, we are commanded to build and live in a Sukkah (booth). Sukkot is a time that commemorates the time of Yisrael (Israel) in the wilderness when they lived in temporary shelters. We may have to once again live in temporary shelters before returning to the Promised Land.
Lev 23:39 Also in the fifteenth day of the seventh month, when ye have gathered in the fruit of the land, ye shall keep a feast unto YAHUAH seven days: on the first day shall be a Sabbath, and on the eighth day shall be a Sabbath.
Lev 23:40 And ye shall take you on the first day the boughs of goodly trees, branches of palm trees, and the boughs of thick trees, and willows of the brook; and ye shall rejoice before YAHUAH your ELOHIYM seven days.

The first day of Sukkot is a high Sabbath in which no servile work is to be done. The 7th and last day of Sukkot is called Hoshanah Rabbah, the great salvation. There is an additional minor festival following Hoshanah Rabbah on the 8th day which is called Shemini Atzeret or the “last great day” and is also a Sabbath in which no servile work is to be done. The Rabbis interpret from the word Atzaret, the meaning to tarry one more day. From this, the Rabbis added an additional festival after Shemini Atzaret and called it Simchat Torah (rejoicing in the Torah). They deem this also to be a Sabbath, but Simchat Torah is not an observance found in scripture. It is only from the imagination of the Rabbis. Therefore, we can ignore it.
Using the Zadokite-Enochian Based Priestly Calendar As Found in the Dead Sea Scrolls SUKKOTH/ TABERNACLES is the 15th DAY of the 7th MONTH which lands on the Gregorian dates of October 7th though October 14th 2020 and SHEMINI ATZERET/LAST GREAT DAY: 22nd DAY of 7th MONTH and lands on the Gregorian date of October 14th 2019.
They are Seven Annual Sabbaths
If you thought that The Eternal only had weekly Sabbath Days then you would be mistaken.
There are SEVEN Annual Holy Sabbaths that occur once every year.
SUKKOTH/ TABERNACLES and SHEMINI ATZERET/LAST GREAT DAY both are one of those SEVEN Annual or (High Sabbath’s) Also.
The next Feast day established by YAHUAH to be observed is Passover, beginning the cycle all over again. Hanukkah is not a festival we are required to celebrate.
This has been a very simplified overview of the Feasts of YAHUAH to help those who are just beginning to explore the Hebraic roots of their faith. These Feasts are to be understood as rehearsals in YAHUAH’s plan of salvation for mankind. They are types and shadows of things to come for the body of Messiah (Col 2:17).

Cutting Ties With Darkness
When Paul says, “Do not be unequally yoked,” he means first, that we should not associate with believers who don’t actually live for YAHUSHA, and second, that engaging in any sort of intimate relationship or partnership with someone who does not let YAHUSHA be the center of their lives will ultimately lead to our demise (2 Cor 6:14). We must cut ties with whatever or whomever leads us to darkness.
Paul intends for believers to engage with people who don’t share their beliefs; he just doesn’t want to see their relationships lead them into darkness. The Corinthian believers are supposed to be changing the world, not to be changed by it. Paul wants to see the Corinthian believers separate from their old way of living and fully embrace the ways of YAHUSHA.
But this is complicated: There are false leaders, and old friends turned enemies, and broken relationships. There are questions about Paul’s motives and ministry. He is essentially standing on trial before a body of believers that he planted himself, and he knows that they are the ones unable to stand the test of authenticity (2 Cor 10:7–8; 12:19–21; 13:5–8). And nothing with the Corinthians is clear; it’s opaque and in the shadows. Paul has to wade through the gray areas of life to find answers. And isn’t that exactly how life is for all of us?
A heretic never says, “I’m a heretic.” A deceiver never alerts you to his true intentions, and a friend can turn on you at any moment. A family member, or even a spouse, can betray your trust. Authenticity and reliability are hard to find, and so are real friends. Giving each other the benefit of the doubt is far from the norm. And correctly asserting truth, without standing in judgment of someone else, is decidedly difficult.
Paul’s response teaches us much about how to work through troubled relationships. He shows us that we cannot truly know another person without first knowing ourselves. And we cannot overcome our demons without first separating ourselves from the work of Satan. In order to be set free, we have to cut ties with the darkness—and Paul tells us how. To combat the darkness, Paul ultimately shows us a better way: We are not meant to pick up the threads of our old sinful lives at all; instead, we’re called to rebuild our lives on the redemption we find in YAHUSHA.
It is only in YAHUAH that we can find completion—wholeness. Anything less than our YAHUAH ELOHIYM will just leave us broken. People can’t fill the YAH-sized hole in our hearts. Paul states that if we cleanse ourselves from defilement, then Set-Apartness (holiness) will be brought to completion (2 Cor 7:1). We need our hearts to be cleansed by the living ELOHIYM—“the Son of YAHUAH who bled and died and rose again for me.”
Natsariym Belivers have to make many difficult decisions, and many of them are based in our relationships. What relationships should we maintain? Which relationships are okay to let go of? And when should we cut ties with someone? Whenever we are being led astray from YAHUAH, we must make changes, no matter how difficult those changes are.
